I find it strange Kyrie wanted to get out of Bron's shadow so much he whined and got traded now he is open to playing with Bron again -- Kyrie is a very good player but he is a whiny little bitch. I am so tired of some star players of the NBA trying to dictate everything just cause they woke up on the wrong side of the bed and decide they want out. The NBA needs to try and step in and fix all this cause while sure it's cool to see star players team up in the end it hurts the league more then it helps when there really is a group of Haves and Have Not's.

Looks like the Kyrie to LA may (unfortunately) be a real thing after all....

He realized that being "the man" comes with a lot of responsibilities and it looks like he can't handle it. I still like Kyrie and it was pretty cool for him to admit that he sounded immature (I forget his verbatim) about leaving LeBron and being a leader. However, I'll lose respect for him if he ends up reuniting with LeBron.

Interesting that Portland is one of 5 teams they are taking bets on Anthony Davis landing with before the deadline. Odds will probably change some with this Kyrie news.

Just like cough cough LaMarcus Aldridge cough cough.

Thinking about this more I actually reckon the return they got for Porzingis was fine. A fairly decent young point guard with potential on a team friendly rookie scale deal, two first round picks and $32million of cap space is a good return for a player who is coming off injury and wants to leave.

C's should just cut bait on Kyrie.

Context tends to get lost there. There were two schools of thought about the end of Kyrie's tenure with Cleveland: 1) he was dissatisfied and wanted out, and 2) he knew LeBron was leaving and was being proactive to leave first, knowing how bad the team would look without LeBron. (Hindsight sure backs that up!) If you buy into #2, then rejoining LeBron in LA isn't contradictory.

They should have traded him the moment they could include him in a package. The dude is not a winner. Trading Thomas for him was a great move - keeping him was a dumb move. How people have ranked him above (or even equal to) Lillard is beyond me. Dude couldn't even lead his team to wins in the Eastern Conference, while Dame has lead his team to the POs in the WEST every single season [knock on wood].

So the Celtics are basically trading Kyrie, Tatum, AND Brown for AD? Wow that would be crazy.
If Kyrie walks in FA, and then they just trade Tatum and Brown for AD, would that be any different?

I would too. But how much can Danny get for Kyrie with his opt out clause? NY seems like a good destination for him this summer....didn't Kyrie and Butler talk about teaming up in NY at one point? They could land both this summer as FA's. Kyrie, Butler and Zion would nice additions, but if they can get the #1....all the other top draft picks seem to be PG's and SG's.....so maybe they trade the pick and keep it top 1 protected.

That's why I was suggesting a deal to the Knicks for Deandre. NY doesn't give up anything they would want to keep, and if he walks they still have all their cap space, so it's no risk for them. Boston gets the rim protector they're currently missing, and could conceivably keep going forward if he fits well.

I mean, if Boston still thinks they can keep him long term, then of course they don't do this, but if he's gonna walk, they should try to get something for him.

Yeah Jordan for Kyrie makes some sense but it is the 3 way that includes Tatum that I am not sure Danny would pull the trigger on. Not unless he knew he could re-sign AD for sure. I just don't think he will blow up the season by trading both he and Kyrie. Hayward does not seem ready to step up yet.

I dunno how much value Kyrie has given his upcoming FA. This would be a 20 game rental for most teams.

I understand that but then you aren't left with much on Boston to be good enough to keep AD after next year either.

Your mention of Hayward reminded me that he exists. Him plus a couple of BOS's picks would be more desirable than any LAL package, IMO. It's a huge gamble on Hawyard's health. But if they thought he could come back close to 100% it'd be a good return.

Anyone hear about these Deandre Jordan ending up in Houston rumors? Sometimes I hate the NBA.

Stevens wants Turner back and Hayward's contract is enough of an albatross to make it happen.

Hayward -for- Turner/Harkless/Swanigan/Stauskas

It's a gamble for Portland due to that massive contract and Boston gets back smaller pieces that are more flexible and Turner replaces something they have been missing since he left.
