Nurk got his money.....and isn't giving effort. Not a huge surprise since he didn't give a lot of money on many nights before he got the money....until it was his contract year.
he is hurt

I don't know if Nurk is still injured or not, but I can see why some players like Kawhi will only play when they are completely healthy.....because fans will not give you any benefit of the doubt.

I dont know who the Spurs announcers are, but that was the stream I got, and they're a great team. No homerism whatsoever. Credit to the Blazers often, and quite a few jokes about calls going there way when they might have. 10/10, would listen again.

You must've found a different feed, because if there's one word that describes Sean elliott to a T its "homerism".

Yes.....but that doesn't make the comments about his effort over his career incorrect.
feel free to pile on the guy now, but also feel free to recognize that he has been the best defender on this team by nearly every meaningful defensive metric

oh ye of little faith

My comments were based on their play, which after they changed things up, started to play better. it had nothing to do with faith.

How is pointing out a career tendency "piling on?" He can help the defense, but on this club, Winslow may be the better defender, and he is coming off the bench.

haters gonna hate.

I will say, fwiw, Grant has impressed me more, much more than I imagined. It was an excellent trade. Worth giving up CJ and Nance, though I will always like both, Nance especially.

Unless he’s playing way way way over his head it’s not even close. He’s just under 50% from 3 this year. He can get his own shot at the rim or set up shooters. He plays good D and is patient and careful with the ball.

Silliness, but perhaps not an unexpected response. Fine, if you believe Nurk gives maximum effort on most nights for his career, which is what I am referencing, feel free. We will have to agree to disagree.

I can't believe SA could have had a 6-point possession early in the 4th after getting 3 free throws and the ball. Not sure I like the rule

All those years where Barkley said we were going to the Finals and now we have a Finals-level team and he says “They can’t keep it up.”

How did the Kings score 153 points on the Nets??
The Nets are a complete clusterfuck and to prove that point see Terence Davis. I'm not saying this guy isn't a talented ball player but giving up 31 points to him on 16 shots?!? Oh and the dude (at 6'4") grabbed 9 boards.

The Nets need a hard reset and it should probably be around KD and if not it's a total tear down and rebuild.

Three great things at the game tonight: Fans applauding Popovich during intros. Dame giving him a hug right before tip. Billups and Pop embracing at the end.
Maybe four great things (at least one of them should have to do with our team) we won the game and took first place in the West.

With the win over San Antonio, the Blazers improve to a Western Conference leading 10-4. 6 games over 500.

Here's how the 2022-23 season stacks up against a few good Blazers teams of the past -

The 2018-19 Blazers team was also 6 games over 500 at the 14 game point, finishing the season at 53-29 (Lost in the Western Conf Finals).

The 2013-14 Blazers team was 10 games over 500 at the 14 game point, finishing the season at 54-28 (Lost in the 2nd round).

At their current win rate of 0.714, that would put them at 58.5 wins for the season. Can the Blazers maintain this impressive pace? The last time the Blazers won more than 54 games was in 1999-00 with 59 wins (Lost in the Western Conf Finals).

I certainly am enjoying the ride!

yet it seems like half this board wants to trade Simons... go figure.
Seriously. He hit a couple big shots down the stretch while Dame was struggling to help us win the game yet people STILL want to trade him.
