I usually don’t have too many gripes with Billups. But our best offensive player this game was basically froze out of the whole 2nd half. He would’ve been all the spark we needed.

Take care of the Jazz on Saturday and all will be well.

Lose to the Jazz, and fall into a 6 game losing streak.

CB waited for a 14-0 run before calling a timeout when up by 11? I mean really? That is some classic Stotts stuff there.

Meh. It’ll come with experience. His 2nd season ever coaching anything. Timeouts take time to polish.

Shit went downhill after that challenge. Fucking Winslow.

People that say they wouldn’t take Simmons are crazy, dude is at his lowest point of his career mentally and value wise. He can play all NBA D and get you a small triple double on any given night. Our D would be elite with him. Yes his contract sucks but you can’t be a Nurk supporter and say Simmons is garbage.

you'd think after a couple of makes the Blazers would have got the memo to cover Watanabe

* looked like Ant's hero-ball stretch got the Blazers out of sync

* Dame a little too much hero-ball in the 4th, but nobody else on the floor was shooting it well

this game really emphasized the advantage of having mobile length
Kevin Durant 6-10
Nic Claxton 6-11
Yuta Watanabe 6-9
Ben Simmons 6-10

that length gave the Blazers trouble on both ends of the floor. Blazers shot 39%, Nets shot 51%

and yeah, close games have a tendency to even out

And he can make his free throws ...as long as he is playing the Blazers.

Nas had a brutal stretch where he lost our lead with about 4 empty possessions that led to 3 pt makes by them...fueled a big run that I'm amazed we had a shot at the end...poor shooting night when it counted...8 minutes without a bucket isn't going to protect a lead.

Yup tough game and two of our best players had terrible games, yet we still almost won. About time for a tough loss with a close game like this. We’ve been super lucky with how the close games have been breaking this year, so it was just a matter of time until we had a game where we lost unfortunately.

Exactly my thinking too. We won about 4 games we probably shouldn't have, so to lose 1 now, it was a matter of time.

I don't think there are many Nurk supporters here anymore.

From about the 3 minute mark of the 3rd quarter to the end of the game, it was all ISO ball.

Btw let's look at the positives: Simmons is awful. I loved being right about not wanting him. He's so bad.

I kinda don't mind the loss. Learning will only make them better. Chauncey will learn that we are a much better team with Shaedon on the floor.

That won’t happen. Our main players just had a tough night. I know that’s hard for some to accept.

Disagree. This wasn't just a few players having a bad night. This was a reversion to bad defense/idiot iso ball....and for the first time this season we saw Billups lose control of the team.

Billups didn't make anybody miss shots for 8 minutes after having a lead at the end of this game......players don't make shots, you lose the game...simple.

Blazers Uprise Postgame Show!
Nets 109, Blazers 107
The Blazers lose on a Royce O'Neale tip-in with 0.7 seconds left to fall to 10-5 on the season. Lots to talk about with what happened in this one. Join us to talk about the game!

Anyone keep track of how many shots Nurk missed at point blank or does the and 1 at the end of the game make all those lost points a no biggie?

Out of all the games to go after Nurk, this is the one you pick? He shot 5-9 from the field and 7-11 from the free throw line. Gets the and 1 to tie the game. He and Shaedon were the only guys to shoot over 50% tonight.

And how many times he falls on the floors. He does that a lot. He’s just soft and talks to much
He is soft, he has such horrible touch around the rim. He’s always looking for the call over the basket. I’m pretty sure Billups who won with a guy like Ben Wallace in the middle doesn’t want Nurk. He knows he’s a roll of Charmin-Ultra Soft.
