Out of all the games to go after Nurk, this is the one you pick? He shot 5-9 from the field and 7-11 from the free throw line. He and Shaedon were the only guys to shoot over 50% tonight.
I go after him every game, the guy makes critical mistakes every game that hurt us. He isn’t the answer at center on a contending team.

and this is why i can't stand some people here. nurk was possibly our best player tonight.

Simons ball is killing me. At least Lillard earned his Lillard ball though I wouldn't mind seeing less of that. Iso kills. He is good enough to get it through the offense.

Seeing the kid checking in with only 4 minutes left in the 3rd after a 15 point first half was nuts. Then I don't think he even touched the ball until the first minute of the 4th.

Okay I am done venting, but that was so winnable.

Yea Sharpe needs way more touches. He’s to efficient for plays not to be called for him a lot

Sharpe is so efficient shooting the ball. Why are we not running him like we did McLemore last year?

Give him more chances to score while his handle catches up. He scored 20 points…how many dribbles did he actually even have tonight? It felt like he had less than 20 dribbles.

Why I'm not mad about the loss... because Chauncey will learn. We're just so much better with him on the floor.

I wonder if we ran plays for him off the ball more, could he average 15+ppg even if he came off the bench.

It would be fun to see two rookies compete for 6MOY. Has that ever even happened?

In the name of sweet baby Jesus. This post can't be real.....
I wouldn’t trade 19yo Shae for 34yo KD either.

I would rather trade top 3 protected picks every other year until the end of the decade than trade Shae for KD.

We found a cornerstone of the franchise for the next decade. Any success that happens in the rest of the Dame era would be great, but he’s the one untradeable guy outside of Dame.

Absolutely correct!

Not playing Sharpe when we need buckets is far more infuriating than Simons unless the two are related e.g. Simons over Sharpe when the former is ice cold and the latter is one fire.

Yep. KD wasn't this good when he was a rookie. Even the best shooters struggle with their shot in their first year or two. Not Shaedon. He's already ready for prime time. Scores so easily.

I might be in the minority, but I don’t mind him coming off the bench until the trade deadline before making him a full time starter. By then, he’ll probably have played against most NBA teams at least once. Keep giving him opportunities to bring the ball up the court every games like he’s gotten the last two games. Give him opportunities to guard the best players in spurts instead of stretches like if he were a starter.

If starting Sharpe prove to be the best move, a trade should be made at the deadline to bring in a backup PG or a scorer off the bench.

Conley!

Frustrating!

Blazers need to do a better job of kicking on when we have 7 & 9pt leads in 2/3rd quarter. Should have closed of Spurs earlier and should have done the same with the Nets tonight.

I don't mind banking on oppositional rotation players making/missing the 3 ball, but when we're up, we should be shutting that off as it invites them back into the game.

Keep feeling this isn't supposed to happen.

1. stop giving up wide open corner threes.

The Blazers are terrible at this? You watch that game for the last 3 minutes and the Nets are absolutely glued to our guys sitting in the corners. The one thing they were absolutely not giving up was a corner three.
Meanwhile the Blazers give up multiple open looks from the corner.

Disagree. This wasn't just a few players having a bad night. This was a reversion to bad defense/idiot iso ball....and for the first time this season we saw Billups lose control of the team.
Certainly lost control of Nurk. Kind of reminds me of a time when Stotts said something about Nurk going "rogue sometimes". I can't Blame dame for trying to get a shot to fall. If he makes a couple those layins that he quite often does, this is a different game. We all know he can hit some of those threes. Two of his 3's were decent looks.
