Brother props to you. You've been a voice in the wilderness and you called it all this summer you and as far as I know, you alone. So hat's off. I was hopeful around Simons and Lillard with Sharpe coming in, but this wasn't even close to how I thought we'd start. This is nutso and you've been calling it all along. I seen it.
I saw, first-hand, how the three players no longer with us were virtually useless, in all facets.
Even though McCollum was a borderline all time great Blazer, his presence was stunting the needs of what is becoming Anfernee Simons. As we saw, again, tonight.
Josh Hart, is truly the difference maker. He, along with Justice, and Jerami, (The 3 J's...as opposed to ThreeJ..) provide an identity. Run Dawgs Run.
Cannot wait to see GPII, and do not underestimate Trendon. He can play. I did not foresee Sharpe, so add that phenom to the list.
Another thing of beauty I get to see up close is the league wide respect and love for Chauncey Billups....No other NBA figure, (and I see 'em all) is received like he is. Dude is special.
I remember a game against Memphis last year...Pregame, before they took the floor, the Grizz were screamin' and hollerin' outta control pumped up!!!
Meanwhile, on the other end of my hallway, you could barely hear the Blazers.."1-2-3- together.." It was pitiful.
That changed, even though they were constantly losing, after Josh, and Justice got there...There was a pulse...
Needless to say, tonight, it was as if that hallway from last year had been switched. It was extremely loud down on the Blazer side of town. Pregame AND postgame.
I know one thing. If I'm Dallas, or Phoenix, or hell, anyone, I wouldn't wanna play these guys. I know for a fact Coach Malone was concerned tonight.
Hopefully, they stay healthy, and continue to gel.
Gotta strange feeling it may just stay pretty loud down there this year.
