Must be nice being back to back MVP, got tons of money like Jokic and decides if he want to play or not. He has no interest playing tonight. Thanks Joker

Incredible. What a magical start so far!!!!
Head down, one game at a time, disciplined BillupsBall and we could be looking REALLY scary as we get into midseason form and really clicking!!!!

Someone Pinch Me!!!!

well...I was wrong...I'll admit it...I thought they'd win 3 of the first 6 games. Now I'm wondering if they can start the season 7-0

* When Simons climbs out of a cold streak, he does it kind of dramatically. Somebody compared Simons to CJ. To start with, seeing Dame and Ant side by side I do think Ant is bigger than CJ. More importantly, Simons doesn't pound the air out of the ball, over and over, like CJ did. He makes quicker moves and faster decisions; he commits to an attack without over-dribbling.

* Josh Hart is averaging 11 points, 10 rebounds, 5 assists and 2 steals. There seems to be two of him on the floor at times. I think Portland would be 1-3 or 0-4 without him. I hope Portland can keep him on a new contract next year

* after 6 years of olshey-reboots I had a hard time believing that some people here would have rather had a 7th reboot than the current team. I know it's spectacularly early in the season, but this team has been more entertaining than any Blazer team since Dame's 2nd season. Cronin built this team in less than a year....

I am not surprised.
Brother props to you. You've been a voice in the wilderness and you called it all this summer you and as far as I know, you alone. So hat's off. I was hopeful around Simons and Lillard with Sharpe coming in, but this wasn't even close to how I thought we'd start. This is nutso and you've been calling it all along. I seen it.

he has.

I sure didn't see 4-0 coming but I really liked Cronin's work at the trade deadline after I analyzed it a bit. Maybe he could have received a little more draft capital...but maybe not. People convinced he could have done much better are fantasizing, IMO. I sure haven't missed any of the guys he traded...I was glad they were finally gone and that olshey-vision was being dismantled

Yep I agree with all of that. The CJ trade was an outright win (Hart plus Grant plus addition by subtraction). Winslow and Keon seem to at least be better role-players with better upside if Winslow can stay healthy.

Our schedule is tough. Denver, Heat, Rockets then Memphis then 6 road games back to back with the Suns…. Ouch

Those are all trash teams. Great teams like ours aren't afraid of any teams.

got a bad feeling that this will be a tough night. blowout perhaps

Prophetic!!!

A typically bad Kangs team - still, a win on the road is a good win.
WCF Suns - a good win
A BADDDD Lakers dumpster fire - but again, a win on the road is a good win.

If they get the Nuggets, that might change some opinions of where this team could go.

Did it change your opinion?

Is there a lower percentage shot in the league than Nurk from 2'? :banghead2:

Nurk from 3?

I love the following posts with all my heart:

ARE YOU KIDDING ME

Holy fuckkkkkk

What a second half… dear Lord this is fun

This team is fucking crazy!!!! Im in love!!!

chauncey billups has these cats playing basketball

I love the hell out of this team!

We’re so fucking good

Someday Simons/Sharpe will be an insane duo.

I will completely own up to the fact that I DID NOT have the Blazers at 4-0 to start the season.

I love a good surprise!!!!!!

THAT IS A STATEMENT WIN FOLKS.

Is every other team besides the Blazers a trash team then?

*Yeah he looks like a full 2 inches taller than Dame now to me, it’s possible he really could be 6’5 in shoes now. I’ve always been skeptical of that until this year. The next step in his development to focus on next summer should be for him to actually be more of a PG. His finishing and defense will continue to improve this year to a point where lack thereof is going to be an afterthought. I need to see him stand next to SGA—with that kind of athletic ability combined with that scoring package and a defensive minded coach, I don’t see why he can’t become a SGA type of player.

*If we could get him back for Norm-level salary, I’d love him back.

*I agree.

I don’t know how they couldn’t have squeezed out Trey Murphy from NOP though. Could you imagine him on this squad?

I saw, first-hand, how the three players no longer with us were virtually useless, in all facets.
Even though McCollum was a borderline all time great Blazer, his presence was stunting the needs of what is becoming Anfernee Simons. As we saw, again, tonight.
Josh Hart, is truly the difference maker. He, along with Justice, and Jerami, (The 3 J's...as opposed to ThreeJ..) provide an identity. Run Dawgs Run.
Cannot wait to see GPII, and do not underestimate Trendon. He can play. I did not foresee Sharpe, so add that phenom to the list.
Another thing of beauty I get to see up close is the league wide respect and love for Chauncey Billups....No other NBA figure, (and I see 'em all) is received like he is. Dude is special.
I remember a game against Memphis last year...Pregame, before they took the floor, the Grizz were screamin' and hollerin' outta control pumped up!!!
Meanwhile, on the other end of my hallway, you could barely hear the Blazers.."1-2-3- together.." It was pitiful.
That changed, even though they were constantly losing, after Josh, and Justice got there...There was a pulse...
Needless to say, tonight, it was as if that hallway from last year had been switched. It was extremely loud down on the Blazer side of town. Pregame AND postgame.
I know one thing. If I'm Dallas, or Phoenix, or hell, anyone, I wouldn't wanna play these guys. I know for a fact Coach Malone was concerned tonight.
Hopefully, they stay healthy, and continue to gel.
Gotta strange feeling it may just stay pretty loud down there this year.

YES. FINALLY SOMEONE GETS IT!

Why on earth do you have the Lakers even in the playoffs? Did they trade Russ for KD? They didn't even make the play-in last year and haven't made any changes except for the fact that LeBron is now in his 20th season. And the NUGGETS are NOT scrubs. They genuine contenders to win it all.

:mook:

Idk if this is the right emoji for this situation; However, I’ve never used it, it’s first on the list, and I like it.

Its becoming unbearable….think ill just stick to the prediction threads. Waste of my time scrolling through all the trash trolling posts.
Haha, yeah it can definitely be like that. Game Threads are their own special place here. Always been some wonderful(?) knee jerk, in the moment kind of pessimism in them. I’ve been guilty of doing so over the years here, think that we all have.

I can’t remember the last time I scrolled through a game thread in entirety when I wasn’t already watching live and posting with others during the game.
