Look--I get that the team is doing well early, and it's nice to see them actually playing defense and surprising the rest of the league. But you and I both know that whatever the chemistry looks like now, they're still at a severe talent deficit against the top teams in the west, and over 82 games, once other teams' scouting departments get some film on this squad, talent is going to win out...it always does. And I'm not going to get myself overly invested in a team that still has major moves to make before it can contend, especially if I know it's going to regress to the mean the same way all the other teams in the Dame/CJ era eventually did. So why should I surround myself with a bunch of polly-anna naivete just so I can watch it all crumble around me into a depressing pool of disappointment because people let themselves get too high early? No, no--I can watch the team by myself, take notes of the things that are sustainable and the things that will need to change, and I'll come back to talk about it with the rest of you when you return from fantasy-land.​

Who knows I see EdO Blocked/Ignored me because I said I don't care about his opinion in over a decade and that he loves the Central Bankers who have been ruining our planet for centuries. He will reappear to take a victory lap with our first big loss, just like the kind of person who would support Central Banks after 2008 and up until now.
 
There really is a double standard here.

When the team struggles: "it's early", "be patient", "don't over-react!" When the team plays well: "you must buy in 100% immediately or you aren't a true fan!"

"It's early", "be patient", "don't over-react" are not an exercise in fandom. It is an exercise in intelligence.
And....NOBODY ANYWHERE ANYTIME has said "buy in 100% or your not a true fan"...as opposed to some who feel all is a failure if you're not in 1st place after 20 games??
What is happening, however, is about credibility. That's all.
There is nothing wrong with the "I would be happy to be proven wrong" rebuttal, depending on how hard you argued, but for some to just disappear during "good times"?..

That doesn't say he'll only buy in if in first place after 20 games. It just says that he will take it all back if they are in 1st at that point.
 
If I had taken a shot of bourbon for every layup Nurk missed I would have passed out and missed the ending.

He is so quick and difficult to get around. Looks like he may be that rare star on both offense and defense.
