Winslow had a couple of bad turnovers last night, but I am very happy to have a backup PF dish out 7 assists. (To go along with Ant's 7, Hart's 4, and Grant's 4) His +/- was again in the top 3 for the team. The Blazers are 5-0 so far in games that he has played, and 0-1 when he has not. Coincidence? Probably, but they do play well when he is on the floor.

Winslow played in the loss to Miami...

This roster is nice mix youth and vets. Cracks me up hearing Simons is expandable now that we have Sharpe, that kid is stud 14 3’s in last two games. I like Sharpe at the 3 with some time at the 2 when Dame or Simons go to bench. The odd guy out is likely Little or Hart. Hart is glue type guy that I hate the thought of losing but don’t see how we can afford to keep him.

future is as bright as I’ve seen in years. As Dame gets older we now have guys who can slowly take the reigns
Simons has averaged 46.8 on 3-pointers in his last 3 games.
Last season, Simons was #1 in the NBA on volume catch-and-shoot 3-pointers (4 or more), making those at 47.8 percent.

While I'm ecstatic to have someone of Grant's caliber at the 4 I do get a little surprised sometimes at how out of control he can get driving to the basket.
Especially when later in the game he is very in control and looks unstoppable.

To everyone who slandered Nurk in a thread of a game where he had 27/15 on 70% shooting: You guys made me fucking cringe.
Nurk is one of the players on the roster that can dominate.
He did it in last season in Memphis (the 4th game of the famous 4-game win streak), shooting 12-17 for 32 points.
Then he had to be shut down because he was playing too well.

Edit: Nurk in the famous 4-game win streak
vs Memphis - 32 points 8 rebounds
vs Milwaukee - 23 points 16 rebounds
vs New York - 12 points 20 rebounds
vs LA Lakers - 19 points 12 rebounds

It's good coaching that made Nurk the early focus of the offense against the undersized Rockets....mismatch in the paint all night long. That's why you have a skilled 7 ftr on your team.

What’s most impressive is his defense. He’s a 19 year old in a generation of no defense and he realizes he has the tools to be an excellent defender and he utilizes that.
He has the tools but he is letting guys drive past him on his outside shoulder, maybe forgetting he has help in the center, or forgetting what is their dominant direction. I'm sure he can overcome this in not much time.

If only this team had a GM that didn't get "fleeced" last summer, as all the other GM's in the league line up to take advantage of him. (green font).
Yes, I am going to bring this up all season, as it is beginning to look like my bald headed buddy fleeced the entire fucking league.
I think most of the trades he made ended up helping both teams.

Yes, he forced things a little last night, driving into traffic.

I don't think the trade with the Clippers helped the Clippers as much as people think. (That is separate from the argument that we did or didn't get value for Covington and Powell).
Covington and Powell weren't difference makers in the Clippers two play-in losses. They aren't making much of a difference this season either. It doesn't mean they aren't good players, but that's all they are, decent players. They don't push the team like Josh Hart, or make the defense better like Justise Winslow.

Fan at the game last night told me we should trade him because he doesn't dunk smh.

I want him to dunk more and there were several plays i felt he should have dunked, but with this new team, he might be the perfect center to have. Mostly a defensive stopper, but has the potential to have a dominant offensive game any given night as well.
As long as be is consistent defensively, this team will be fine even if his offense is not being as consistent.
Not a Nurk hater like that guy was but not sire if he has the speed to keep up with this new team, though im turning the corner to thinking he will be alright.
Plus there isn't another center in the league as good as him that wouldn't cost alot more.

There is no such thing as a NBA player that has no talent.
Other than covington & powell.
They suck.

Maybe, just maybe teams are, on average, superior talent evaluators when assembling a team than most fans. Like 90%+ fans.

People keep talking about the value and level of talent was not even, etc. but when all things are considered, value is nothing more than a perspective. Values is merely the viewpoint of the buyer and seller as to what works with their goals/agenda.
What i see so far is a fairly clear agenda that the team has progressed down the path of, fairly steadily. The end goal has not yet been obtained, but so far, the moves that have been made has clearly made us a better team overall, not withstanding the huge potential upside in our young guys.
Our future clearly looks brighter, while we are playing better basketball now.

If anyone doesn't see this, they need to remove the hate goggles.

I asked that a week or two ago. What I noticed is every team has to play two consecutive road games in the same city. The thing I noticed that is different is all the other ones I looked at gets a night off between the two games, where the Blazers have to play them back to back nights.
It’s usually like a home and home with Sacramento.

My thoughts exactly!

I’d have been frustrated if I woke up to see anything but a W. Went to sleep at half time.

These next 4 games (MEM, @PHX, @PHX, @Mia) are going to be tough without Dame. Some tough games after that on a long 6 game road trip.

He may be back for Memphis, it's not ruled out. He may just miss one more game.

Ayton is gonna miss a week while we play them in an away/away btb
