Game Thread 2023-24 - GAME #44 - BLAZERS @ ROCKETS - JANUARY 24, 2024 - WEDNESDAY - 5:00 PM PST - ROOT

I was waiting for the refs to take this game from us. Great win after last night

These two have a pod cast together?

It was a monster game overall for Ayton. Just scared of his hands when he gets the ball. Doesn't take much to knock it free from him. Didn't care for his issues making shots at the basket in the fourth.

OK, the afterglow is gone and I'm left wondering what the fuck we're doing. Do we want wins in a season that is all but guaranteed to be a losing season? Do we want our vets getting all of the usage??? Do we want a lower position in the lotto?

I mean wins are fun in the moment but winning in the playoffs and seeing the progression of young players are the only things that give me actual fulfillment as a Blazers fan. Jerami Grant rescuing this team is meaningless for our team. Brogdon setting the table for the win is meaningless. In my opinion because he doesn't fit well with Scoot or Shaedon, Ant catching fire to keep us in the game is meaningless.

Maybe people will call me miserable or pessimistic but a few minutes ago I was really excited until the reality of our situation and the lack of direction I see sat in.

There are going to be plenty of losses

How many seasons do you want this team to tank? How about indefinitely? Why don’t we just keep tanking until another player like Wemby comes along? Or why don’t we just tank forever, based on the idea that there will always be some hot young high school kid who looks really good and might or might not turn into a real NBA player someday. Yeah, that’s the ticket.

Yeah it's dumb to want a legit chance at a championship. I should be worried about getting to 35 wins instead of trying to increase our options at the draft. That's really smart.

It’s entertainment. Tonight was entertaining. I feel great. Let’s get the next one. The games have been more relaxing for me this year. If we lose, it’s fine. If we win, it’s fun. Go Blazers!

Dude it’s one game. Our lotto chances weren’t ruined. Tonight’s game was fun. If you can’t enjoy it, you’ll never be happy.

I got this. I can answer your questions. This year and maybe next year. Not forever. Any other questions?

some of those folks pouring acid on Ayton didn't realize he's been out with injury. When Deandre gets back fully healthy, the Blazers painted area will improve.

Your afterglow is already gone? Mine lasts until the next loss.
