They definitely know that Cronin isn't going to take what they're offering. Is he not taking it because he has better offers on the table or is he not taking it because Dame is sticking around?

leads me to believe he’s staying, of course could be Miami posturing

whole account got deleted. Fuck man. End of a short era. Hope he comes back

As much of a flaky guy as Harden is he still way better than Luka and carried a team to a quarter from beating one of the best warriors teams of all time. I'd much prefer him if I'm Dallas.

Although both of these guys have major issues.
Luka can't play off the ball and either can Harden. Irving, while still a mess, actually can. It would be absolutely horrible.

Amick is saying that we won't be able to pull off the moves that he (Amick) is reporting that Dame requested in the meeting either Raptors forward (OG or Siakam) or Dray. So he says Dame will have to make a decision to "call his own bluff" or not.

Thybulle was acquired for GP2 and Reddish is as you say irrelevant.

Thybulle was acquired as part of the Hart trade. Reddish was acquired in the GPII thread. That the Blazers QO'd Thybulle and not Reddish tells me they are trying to go all in to keep Dame.

Please god I hope we don't get Harden. Don't be stupid, don't be stupid, don't be stupid.

Or maybe not? Your speculation and assumption Cronin had real insight here is just as meaningful as anyone's random speculation he misread the situation while lacking clear direction.

Even if what you said was true its the wrong approach if the team wants Hart. You don't go to a player and ask him his position to staying in the relationship at a future time. How do you think it would go over with my wife if I ask her what intentions she has of being together next year? No I tell her how it will work out between us and ask her if theres anything I can do to help.

wut?

are you actually suggesting Cronin should have not asked Hart 4 months before the option date if he'd be willing to opt into the final year of his contract? Or what he would want salary-wise? That makes no sense at all. I think that would be GM malpractice and I can not believe any GM would be so stupid to not to get a sense of a player's intentions with an option like Hart's prior to a trade deadline. That's the GM's job for chrissakes

Yeah. Also, I know he and others around him says he doesn't care about what anyone else thinks, but I think all the folks telling him to leave and run from the grind actually makes him want to stay more than it makes him want to leave. Just a hunch.

Best hope to keeping him is maybe convincing him that shit happens in the NBA and you never know when Embiid or Giannis or whoever may come available out of nowhere. No one thought Harden opting in to get traded was even an option till it happened.

I agree 1000%

Help me out.... what did they say?

he was predicting the Harden news well before Woj, then started to flick Woj some shit, vaguely

said a couple of things about Dame which seemed to be a reaction to the news Miami was shifting focus to Kyrie

Miami shifting from Dame to Irving? Good.

I think Miami is trying to pressure us..... or Dame.

Well, assuming that Miami is Dame's number one (and we don't know that) they probably think that leaking this crap rumor will pressure Dame into making a decision.

Doesn't mean they will get him. The Blazers decide where he goes in the end.

I get that. I'm just trying to think up a motivation for Miami. I'm not saying it will work. I'm not saying that we would trade him there. I'm not saying that Dame even wants to go there. I'm just speculating as to their motivation.

the GM might be thinking they can get Dame for a bad deal now or get him or a worse deal later at the deadline, but they need Dame now to get the wins they need for seeding later, so they leak the rumor and hope Dame and Cronin bite.

I dunno just a thought.

Yeah it just seems like a play from Riley.

Yep. Good post. Dame really not holding any cards here. Sure he could sit out but that ain't him. I just don't see any deal from Miami that would make it worth while. .

I could see Riley doing that, but it's useless.

Maybe. If we don't make any moves in the next week and Dame actually wants to go Miami (which I'm not sure about) I could see this kind of pressure having some effect.

Other teams have better deals. The Nets are also on Dame's list. The Heat don't get to dictate shit.

If Dame were to come out and say, "I want Miami," I could see Cronin finally caving. But who knows.
