What do you guys expect? Fans haven’t changed in the 25 years that I have been on forums. I don’t understand what you think this place should be like.

Did I say I expect it to be any different, or think it should be a certain way?

Well then if you know what this place is like..... why are you surprised when you come on here? I guess I just don't understand.

Yes, people are unhappy. We were told for months that the team is going to go all-in. Instead we have three rookies, a re-signed forward with a very large contract, and potentially a very unhappy Damian Lillard.

People are voicing their displeasure. Personally I'm psyched about Scoot and Sharpe. I'm ready for the rebuild, but I completely understand why people are pissed off.

Hard to imagine this forum being able to collectively agree to any transaction!
Additionally, this draft and (to this point) this FA period for the Blazers has been very extreme.

Portland got lots of A and A+ grades from major media outlets for their work at the draft... and I suspect we will get lots of bad-to-terrible grades if we just shut things down after paying Grant more money than any other free agent got this offseason.

Edit: like this. The only "C" grade for a signing today. There were a couple of C+ grades, but having THE worst first-day contract grade seems accurate and makes me sad.

If we were doing middle of the road stuff, it would be hard to have strong opinions about what the team is doing... with this sort of competence whiplash, it's much easier.

ridiculous comparison, dude. quit it.

we have 12 guards, and one guy above 6'9. 0 roster balance combined with an aging core with youngsters that are not going to play enough to develop.
12 guards? nah......we have 3 7 ft guys, Nurk, Butler and Badji...and we're not even close to having a full roster yet.

Agreed.... Though there are almost certainly more transactions ahead. Will they be needle movers?

Re-checked my post and didn’t see where I said I was surprised either.

simply stated that every time I think about coming back, then I’m like “oh yeah this folk just isn’t for me, I remember now”

I don’t expect that Frank doofus on barstool to be any different any time I see him acting like a petulant child. But it doesn’t change that some people are straight up not enjoyable to be around when things aren’t going their way (for me).

Grant agreeing to this contract has no impact on Dame staying.
I'm not sure how one could come to this conclusion.

If I had to assume, I'd guess Grant not re-signing would greatly impact his willingness to stay.

butler and badji?

bro
They are on the roster we have 3 guys over 6'9 bro Badji I'm excited to watch...Butler is a 7ft stretch 4...you need these guys when you play San Antonio, Philly and Denver...shot blockers
I read we're looking at a 6'10 guy who's lighting it up in Europe too.

I guess that's up to you man. There's not many options for blazers discussion. And at least most of the people on here actually know what they're talking about.

100% and I’m not even one who wants to be stuck in an echo chamber of positivity and negativity, cause both are boring AF imo, it’s just overly emotional online screaming can be tiresome and the turnoff for me. It has been my experience in many highs and lows of teams I support (like an idiot, seriously why do I love being kicked in the nuts lol) things are rarely as good as they seem, and rarely as bad as they seem.

FVV got more money than any other free agent so far... I think.

A great example of why getting something (even if it's only a late 1st round pick) is better than losing a free agent for nothing.

Losing FVV seems fine to me. There's no way that dude is worth that money. His stats last year were garbage. Wow.

I think you missed the main point. I think Houston made a mistake as well by giving him that contract. However, 4 months ago Toronto could've got some assets for FVV, but instead, lost them for nothing, then panicked, and overpaid for a replacement that doesn't fit their needs.

They might be setting up to do the same thing with OG.
