What did the Memphis Grizzlies do last off-season in the free agent market?

They ended up with the #2 seed in the Western Conference.

Were their fans angry when they weren't active?

"Drafted" players include those acquired on draft day and started their careers in Memphis.
they also have two all stars, another 20 ppg scorer, and a DPOY candidate, and a roster that was still developing. they didn't need much outside of internal development.

I wonder if Dame just put some pressure on Cronin to make sure Grant got his check then is going to bounce.

Grant did Dame a solid to force his way here last year, maybe Dame returned the favor.

Lol, you can't be serious.

First of all, 90% of their good players aren't playing PG/SG and they aren't forcing players to play out of position.

They also have more than one viable player taller than 6'8, which ya know, helps.

Minnesota is the worst. The dude who did the Gobert trade should never get a GM job again.
He's actually done other very good moves. Some rumors the Gobert trade was nearly 100% the owners. That's the one hard part of GM evaluation, it's hard to know how much ownership is interfering for better (or more likely) for worse.

How many of them were free agents?

The Blazers are now also still developing and will also be getting better by internal development.

ridiculous comparison, dude. quit it.

we have 12 guards, and one guy above 6'9. 0 roster balance combined with an aging core with youngsters that are not going to play enough to develop.

If the young players (that show promise) aren't going to play enough to develop, might as well shut it all down.

Why the fuck does it matter?

They didn't need free agents.

They already had a team.

They won 56 games and were the 2 seed with an already decently balanced and young, and up-and-coming roster that didn't have massive, glaring holes.

We are coming off a lottery appearance and trying to build around an aging star.

Sure, if we admitted we were gonna blow it up, free agency wouldn't matter at all. But our stated direction is to "win now".

How are these situations even comparable to you?

The Blazers Uprise guys say there are rumors about us pursuing Eric Gordon and I don't they were joking about it. That would be so infuriating.

Bleacher report had a article yesterday saying we were one of six teams to pursue him.

Did you notice that the Trail Blazers (other than the 2025 Milwaukee pick) have traded zero draft picks to "win now?"
And that it's possible they now have the best backcourt (or 3-player guard rotation) in the history of the franchise?
I think the Blazers are at the point where Memphis was when they drafted Ja Morant.

Remember Cronin is the GM but billups has his hands in it too. If that's true then we need evaluate our head coach.

I've stated multiple times that I don't think we're actually trying to win now.
It started with my thread last year "This offseason was an epic disaster", because we did everything other than try to actually "win now" or even move toward "win now".
When the Grizzlies drafted Morant they had a future DPOY and all-star at PF/C in Jaren Jackson Jr., so I doubt we are in that same position unless you think Kris Murray fits that bill which is... interesting.
