Edey has skills and is limited … and maybe gets picked in the 1st by a better team as a back-up big.
Boban (who I really like) has made a career because he works hard.

Clingan, OTOH, is a rim protector AND gets tough blocks. Watching him a bit, he’s not twitchy athletic but he looks like an effective center in today’s NBA. A guy who can hedge and get back. He has work to do, but I won’t be surprised to see him gone prior to the Warriors pick. At 7’2 and his level of mobility he’s an actual shot blocker — not an athletic big who SHOULD be a shot blocker! He’s got value.

[With that said, I want forwards drafted with both lottery picks. Sarr as PF/C, Risacher, Williams ….]

Seems unlikely Portland would go that route with their own pick. But if he somehow drops to the GSW slot (he won't), I'd go for it.

I assume that our pick will be a keeper. Filling a need at forward. While GS's pick could be moved later in a trade along with a Vet. So BPA should be considered.

I do wonder though if we landed in the top 3, how much value that pick plus GS's pick is worth if combined with one of our "vets". (Brogdon, Ant, Grant, Thybulle)

A team like Orlando who has cap space this summer could take on an unbalanced trade. Although they probably will just try to land a free agent and keep all their players. But if they crash and burn in the playoffs......would getting a guard like Topic, plus Grant be enough for Franz? I am sure we would all prefer Banchero in that scenario, but even if we added GS's pick and another future #1 they would be stupid to move him.

Regardless, if we land in the top 3 there could be a few suitors for the pick.

LOL Pops is the Master Tanker
Some years, yes. I think he has done a cost/benefit analysis this year and decided it wasn't worth it. Also, he just can't hold Wemby back.

I'd almost be tempted to take the guy with the most upside in a draft where every guy has so many question marks. If he was available for our GS pick would definitely think about it, even though he is another PG.

We need to find stars. If you're OKC you can draft for fit because you've already accumulated stars. If you're the Blazers, you need to find stars. That's why I take Salaun with our second pick.

here's some tape of salaun.

what nba-level skills do you see here?

let me guess--nick wright is one of those dame-obsessed miami heat guys from last summer?
Nick Wright is a national guy on Fox Sports. Hails from KC. Definitely not a Miami guy.

I think Spurs can beat Nuggets and Pistons. Their last two games. If that happens and Blazers lose the rest, they can sneak into the 4 spot.

Wemby needs rest. Heckuva rookie season. I'm glad he punched Britney Spears, she's out of control and may have been carrying a knife.

I don't think he rests. He has all off-season. Players going to the playoffs are resting which is why I think they can beat the Nuggets. Hopefully OKC rests its guys too.

Why in the hell didn’t we draft HIM!!!!!!???
