Department of Agriculture has a $6 billion emergency fund specifically set up to cover SNAP benefits in a government shutdown so people don't go hungry. They refused to release it. SNAP are being cut off November. Hell, they starved poor people abroad, why not at home?

Trump talked about wanting to be speaker of the house as well as president. Mike Johnson effectively made him so. Trump said Congress no longer needed. He got what he wanted in big ugly bill. Giant tax cuts for the rich, massive cuts in social services, massive funding for his private police force, end to subsidies for renewable energy and taxpayer support for fossil fuels. Most of all presidential immunity. Supreme Rubber Stamp already gave him immunity from criminal prosecution. Bill gives immunity from civil by mandating no penalties for Trump if he ignores or defies court order. He can do everything else with executive order. Who cares if roads aren't built, workers unpaid, kids go hungry?
