Aldridge to the Spurs(Official)

Sure says something about our management team, when four of the five starters bolt. Because they wanted out or we didn't want them.... Not that I could blame them on the Wes case due to that nasty injury...
Batum needed to be traded either way. We got an upgrade for Lopez in plumee. Wes, the injury thing.

MM will finally add a D to Leonard's last name now. Could you imagine Leonard becoming a 20/10 player?!

He did the same thing LeBron did in 2010...held the team (probably just PA) hostage to his playing whims and his personnel wants, so that we could re-sign him. Then he left anyway. Whatever.

Would you rather have him said, "I'm not sure if I will return." Which would have been the truth. Regardless, Portland still would have waited till free agency and tried to re-sign him. So either way, it would have been the same end-game.

Do you actually think part way through the season or before last season he would have said "Oh yeah, I'm definitely not coming back to Portland, they should trade me."

the only one who "bolted" was Aldridge, I think mgmt knew that was likely and they chose to trade Nic and get some value back, Wes was easy to let go after the Achilles injury and given how much he got paid and for how long, and Rolo is just not that good - especially for 13 ml per when we get Plumlee for 1.4 mil per

For all the Blazer fans crying over him leaving I have this to say:

Get over it. The NBA is a business. How can you blame a guy for going to one of the classiest and most successful sports franchises' in the modern era. As much as it hurts to see a great player like Lamarcus leave, he has a 10x better chance at winning a title in SA than Portland.

I wish Lamarcus best of luck, but man it sucks to be us.

Us? It's a little obvious you're a Spurs fan...

The Spurs aren't doing shit. Even with Aldridge, they don't beat GS. Maybe you guys haven't noticed but they didn't improve their roster this summer, with the exception of Aldridge. In fact, their roster got worse. They traded Splitter and they lost Bellinelli.
I'm sorry but Aldridge is better than Splitter and Bellinelli. It's not even close

I don't blame him for leaving come on Duncan, Leonard, Green and Parker now Aldridge best starting 5 in the NBA easy. Plus, they also have a nice 8 million dollar trade exception from trading Splitter that they can use to add even more depth.

Olshey couldn't even hold Buford's jock

Fuck that scumbag piece of shit. No addressing of pdx or the fans after 9 years? Fuck him and I gotta go to the Spurs game so I can boo his lying ass off.

Yeah I suppose you're right.. We didn't show loyalty (rightfully so) but that might have looked bad in some players eyes (LA)

Adding Aldridge isn't enough.
We will see. Look, I'm really salty that Aldridge isn't a true leader too. But he's one helluva Robin.

I wish Aldridge would have done what he's going to do in Portland, but he doesn't have the mental capacity to do it on his own

I'm not a huge Blazer fan like most of you guys here. I'm more of an NBA fan than a Blazer fan, but they are the team I root for since I moved to Portland 7 years ago. I can see why most Blazer fans are angry, but from an outside perspective it makes sense. He's chasing a championship. Whether you want to hear it or not. He wasn't going to win shit in Portland.

He said that in 2013. Well, not the "they should trade me"...he didn't want any part of going to CLE or DET or CSKA Moscow if he could help it. Then, if he would've said "I'm not sure I'm returning", he would've been well within his right and I'd think of him like I'm thinking of Wes right now...Sorry you're gone, wish you were here, but you earned the right to make your situation your own.

He didn't. He even said "I'm not signing the 3yr max because I want to get the 5yr. Don't worry. It's about my financial security!" Not "Man, I'd like to be able to make a choice to leave if that's the best situation for me...I don't even know what's out there b/c I've been in POR since I was 21. I think I'd like to go to TX or LA, but we'll see. Family's important to me." Nope, he straight-up lied. Twice, if you count lying about saying he wasn't re-signing with POR in his 2013 exit interview, then saying in training camp that he said it but changed his mind.

Again, whatever. Historical footnote.

Exactly. He's a Robin. Who is Batman on that team? Duncan is too old. Kawhi doesn't strike me as a Batman. I see him as a Robin as well.

we didn't show loyalty? its a business, POR probbaly made a mistake by being "loyal" to LMA and believing him when he said he wants to come back - that cost us "possibly" not trading him last summer like Minny did with Kevin love for some nice assets

Yeah, losing my favorite player in Wes brings back feelings when Drexler was traded to the Rockets.

Wes, you were the heart and soul of our team these last few years. Good luck to you!

they can't have a trade exception AND the cap space to sign LMA.
