Aldridge to the Spurs(Official)

I think Aldridge will be incredible on the Spurs. They'll know how to use him to maximize his strengths and minimize his weaknesses. All that said, I don't care. He's been erased from my memory as a Blazer. To me, he's just another elite player, like a John Wall or Marc Gasol; a guy that only will cross my mind when we play them.

When Bulls players left the team, I rooted for them to do well. No hard feelings. It's business.

So they lost Splitter, Joseph, Baynes, and Belinelli to sign Aldridge.

Duncan is their only center, so you know LaMarsha will have to play that position he dreads so much. And considering depth was their biggest strength over the years, perhaps the media needs to all ease up on the Spurs title claims.

Jeez, rich get richer.

Although I think West is done being a starter level player.

So the Spurs replace Tiago Splitter & Aron Baynes with LaMarcus Aldridge & David West? Unreal...

So anyway, I've been in London the last few days. Anything big happen with the Blazers while I've been away?

He's 35 years old, he's done on the Spurs ever being a starter..his prime was in New Orleans with CP3

Remember when the Lakers added Gary Payton and Karl Malone and thought they were guaranteed a championship... Hopefully something similar happens for the Spurs.

Good luck wishing that Malone and Payton were washed up old dudes by that point. Is Lma even 30 yet??

If Malone wasn't injured in that playoff series..they would have won it in my opinion. Malone was NEVER washed up. He'd outrun young guys and play big minutes until the last game he played. True ironman

Yeah and Payton won a ring a year later in Miami.
There were definitely past their prime, but a past their prime Payton still sticks like glue to 95% of the guards in his time.
Washed up? no way. Washed up would have not got them to the finals and if I remember correctly they fairly well dominated the regular season and the playoffs

Well, at least I got something out of Payton & Malone going to the Lakers.

I always liked the Spurs and I always liked LMA - so I am going to wish him luck there - I do not buy into this idea that he had to give the team more than what he did - he worked hard when he was here, he postponed surgery when the team was going well - he had a long, successful run here and we got some very enjoyable years out of this.

At the end of the day, it is a business and if he is happier in San Antonio - good for him. It was clear that the team knew that he wanted out at some point, he agreed to give them a chance to build a contender, he worked hard to make it a contender and when it failed - he had taken the opportunity that was before him.
