No I get that; but it's not a bad deal. We would be getting charlotte's pick too

Agree that Noah MIGHT be a better fit in our reload than Aldridge despite his age. While they are comparable players in terms of talent and impact, Aldridge is a primary scorer type while Noah is a stud defender role player type. We would be building our offense around Lillard, CJ, Batum, and next year's draft while having a defensive anchor to keep us competitive. And Noah has a ton of good years left.

As good as LMA is, I wouldn't trade the rights to Mirotic or give up the Charlotte pick.

For a team that wins enough to have lower end of the draft type picks to refresh the talent, those two things are golden. They're also likely two top 5 kind of picks/players making rookie scale wages. In this CBA, also golden.

Plus, I think the salaries don't match up to make that deal work.

Mirotic & the CHA pick are where the REAL value is at for LA in a deal....

Having Boozer expire in 2015 with other contracts...has some value for POR...Having Deng expire next year, not so much....

Gibson, has some value b\c he could step in and help man the PF position with T-Rob

and Snell, Teague, Butler...are all young players with some potential....

1 or 2 from that group would make sense IMO....

Boozer for the salary, some value...Mirotic & CHA pick for a large chunk of the value and 1 or 2 of Gibson, Snell, Teague or Butler to make up the difference....(my preference would be for Snell and\or Teague)....

CHI has to weigh the chance to compete now (with LA) vs the uncertainty of later with Mirotic, whatever player CHA pick turns out to be and growth of Snell or Teague...Bird in hand...

Nothing more to talk about. I think you let LMA walk and throw your cap space at Kevin Love like someone suggested earlier.

Probably the best deal possible. Better if there was a way to trade LMA to a team for the cap space and a pick, but I'm being greedy. I wonder how Love would feel about being back in the PNW.

Fucking better than that shit hole Minnesota!

You're severely undervaluing the draft pick. Cleveland offered #1 and #19 in a weak draft. That's the market for LMA. I mean, you can put your house on the market for $100M but if nobody makes you a $100M offer, it ain't worth that much.

Lee or bogut and Barnes or klay is better than the Cleveland offer.

And we didn't have to trade two other players (Matthews as a starter and Leonard as a center prospect).

Bulls writer suggested Deng and the Charlotte pick. That's your pick and a big contract off the books after this season.

http://www.blazersedge.com/2013/6/3...cted-warriors-offer-of-david-lee-brandon-rush

The Golden State Warriors reportedly offered All-Star power forward David Lee and small forward Brandon Rush to the Portland Trail Blazers for All-Star power forward LaMarcus Aldridge, but the Blazers declined.

(I don't see Bogut's name, Barnes' name, Klay's name, etc.)

EDIT: that offer reported by Wojnarowski

That was rumored later. Check the Aldridge thread. The tweets where in there.

Ironically, the Charlotte Pick is what the Bulls got for LMA in the first place.

The Bulls traded LMA on draft day for Viktor and Tyrus Thomas. They later traded Thomas to Charlotte for the pick.

Charlotte is such a great franchise.

Charlotte is such a great franchise.

Tyrus Thomas is a bonehead.

Dealing LMA for him wasn't a great move, either :) Especially when the Bulls starting PF at the time was PJ Brown and I think they had just let his contract expire. That is, the Bulls could actually have used LMA.

On the other hand, maybe they'd not have lucked into the pick that got them Derrick Rose because LMA would help them finish with a better record?

He said he was going to miss "boners" like me. It insinuates he won't have to deal with people like me where he is going.
Pretty sure he meant "boners" as "stupid mistakes" referring to Haynes implying that LaMarcus met with Olshey in Vegas, then LaMarcus saying he's been in Dallas for the last two weeks...

No deal.

We're done.

I think you put a competitive team around LaMarcus, make it to the WCF, and sign him to a huge extension so he'll retire a Blazer.

That works, too.

I really like players (over management). As a fan, nothing would make me happier to see him retire a Blazer. With all sincerity.

clearly the bulls would have to offer both the pick and the euro, and they would still make out like bandits

Still don't see why we don't just wait it out... and if we don't make it to the WCF in the next 2 years, let him expire, and then throw the bank at Love - who is probably a better fit now anyway.

That, or get Mirotic + Cha #1 + Deng or Boozer.

Otherwise, I'd prefer: LMA for Splitter, Kawhi, Danny Green

Then Batum + Wes for Love (if he demands a trade) or

Batum + Green + Meyers for Monroe. (Obviously I am in homer lala land for all of this, but in the end we would look pretty good)

Lillard l Wes l Kawhi l Love, Monroe l Splitter.

McCollum to back up PG/SG, T Rob @ 4

maybe. aldridge was pretty raw his first couple years though.

I have no interest in Boozer or Deng, but I personally wouldn't be opposed to a package of Gibson, Teague, Hinrich's EC, Mirotic, and the pick for Aldridge/Freeland.

Bulls have a title contender (favorite?):
Rose/(?-Nate?)
Dunleavy/Cook
Deng/Butler
Aldridge/Boozer
Noah/Freeland

Blazers tank with:
Lillard/Teague
Matthews/McCollum
Batum/Wright
Gibson/Robinson
Lopez/MyLe
