Maybe they're waiting on the Lillard situation?
I won't be surprised if Lillard plays again for the Trail Blazers.

Definitely possible. They might be reluctant to put either Dame or Scoot on anything.

So we have Simons

Here is Murray

It is clear Scoot and Nurk are being traded for Joel. They are just waiting for Harden to get traded. Dame is for sure staying.

Pure speculation on your part or second hand promulgation of someone else’s pure speculation?

Just to note.

Scoot is now eligible to be traded and his 8.1 mil contract can be added as salary.
I'm asking myself right now what exactly could the Blazers get for Scoot? Why isn't this being talked about?

If there is any way I could get a package back for Scoot that keeps Lillard here I do that in a heartbeat. Problem is there isn't. Teams know what Scoot brings and their scouts have watched him through and through. If Scoot was everything many Blazer fans have convinced themselves he is there would be a market for the kid.
Simple answer is there isn't one because he will be a serviceable to good PG in this league. Unfortunately those are readily available.

Or….maybe it is that others recognize the Blazers have their eyes on the future and so they won’t even consider trading Scoot.

Not going to get a high -priced superstar like Dame wants for a rookie. So trade your own high-priced superstar (as he has requested) instead.

You may be right that Scoot will only be serviceable, but the majority of articles I have read view a much higher prospect than that; both from before and after the draft.

It is not like “Oh, the Blazers drafted him, won’t amount to anything.” Is the thinking. Most have high opinions of him.

I'm betting there could be a pretty high priced superstar available for Wemby? My bet is Banchero and Jabari Smith from last year would bring a pretty decent player.
I am not sure about Brandon Miller but something tells me he would bring more than Scoot.

Does anyone else think it's weird that the team isn't using him to promote season tickets next season?

That one image that HCP shared had Kris Murray on it. I haven't seen all the marketing but I have heard that Scoot isn't on any of it. Can anyone confirm?
Maybe his shoulder injury is more severe than we thought?

I think when Dame was killing the value of the third pick, he has devalued Scoot. Scoot will have to earn his stripes. I think he will be fine. Respect your opinion though.

That whole thing was so weird. They never made any kinds of official release about his MRI results or ruled him out for the rest of SL.

No, they did announce he was shut down. It was a few days after. At least the tv crew mentioned he was shut down for the remainder.

To keep selling tickets and to preserve his trade value. I think his shoulder is fubar. season over

The Blazers never formally put out any kind of press release.

Could be? I just find it hard to think every scout in the league didn't watch just as much or more of him last year as I did.
How could someone kill his value with so much actual game video to watch? He's NBA ready and serviceable at this point with room to improve. At some point you got to figure he will be at least a good player. With the right coach and environment he could be very good.
All I'm saying is if there was a trade available I'd do it in a heartbeat. Cannot figure Joe would be any different?

And yet I have heard multiple scouts and analysts who have watched him extensively say that he's going to be a star.

We wanted a star in return. There wasn't really anyone out there. Who would you have traded him for?

If this was true somebody would be willing to take him. Every scout i have listened to has said "he has the tools to be good but needs to improve on his defense, decision making and his Jumper". To me that sounds like 90% of the point guards out there.

What do you mean, “take him?”

29 other teams would “take him”.

It was about getting a star in return and it never sounded like that was an option. The offers have to be there. I’m sure we could have traded him for a shit deal if that’s what you mean.

This is nonsense. This is your quote and not by any scout.

Really??? People on here honestly want to call the Ironman a Liar? I'll wait for your apology.
"The one knock on Henderson is his 3-point shot. For two-straight seasons in the G League, he made less than 30% of his attempts from beyond the arc."
"Defensively, Henderson is pesky but undisciplined at times. He’s got work to do on that end, especially as it relates to limiting fouls."

This is at the G-league level. He has not even played against real NBA talent.

I ask again. Why can't they get a solid piece to keep Damian Lillard (Whom is a proven All Star HOF talent) here by trading this guy?

They could get "a solid piece". Would it be enough to keep Dame? Who knows...maybe. Would it be enough to make this team a contender? Probably not--especially if we still have Simons starting at SG. If the piece that would be received in return for a Scoot trade wouldn't be sufficient to bring this team to contender status, then it would be foolhardy to make such a deal.

There's a vast difference between your paraphrase and the scout's actual wording. "He has the tools to be good, but..." suggests the scout indicated that development would be required for Scoot to be a good player. In fact, the scout in the link you posted said, "He’s ready today to be the point guard of an NBA team...his touch near the rim is elite...He’s got a ridiculous first step and a robust layup package that’s only getting better...The basketball IQ of Henderson is impressive given his age, rarely making major mistakes despite playing at the professional level as a teenager...the one knock on Henderson is his 3-point shot...he’s an elite scorer at two levels, but needs to improve drastically from deep round out his offensive game." (There's much more, but I'll digress)

I wouldn't say that you were lying, but I would say that you were vastly misinterpreting the scouting report, possibly even intentionally only singling out the few critiques while deliberately ignoring the massive amount of praises heaped upon Henderson. Either way...I don't think an apology is called for.

Lamelo Ball shot 25% from 3 in Australia one yr before shooting 35% from 3 in his rookie NBA season.

Scoot's shooting will not be a hurdle. He's already ahead of Ball was at this point. Remember the GLeague also uses the NBA line. While he's no spot up shooter, Scoot should be fine making defenders pay for going under the screen even early on.

Cannot argue with this. Certainly might have been the case. Personally I think you move Simons as well.

Im of the opinion that we started going young last year and Joe had already made up his mind to do so when he took over. It's the best way for him to seal his job security with a rebuild versus all in and build around Dame. The other HUGE factor is I'm thinking Bert & Jody encouraged him to do so. Thus last two years of tanking with probably 2/3 more years of it to come.
