Good topic. yes Morals are based on the society, take Antiquity for example. Slavery, orgies, homosexuality, torture ect were not frowned upon. infact the Spartans concidered Homosexuality to be a part of everyday life and would help bond males and help with battle. In ancient Rome you could own slaves, go to the games, have an orgy and still be concidered an all around good guy. All those things are concidered taboo in our society.

Morals are completely based on one's perspective and how they have been taught to view them.If my whole life my mother, father, peers and people around me tell me that it is ok to treat a woman like dog-turd, I will think it is only acceptable and will be quick to abuse and limit say, a wife or girlfriend.However, like myself in real life, if my mother, father, peers and people areound me tell me that it is unacceptable to treat a woman like dog-turd, I will view abuse of women as disgusting and uncalled for.Morals are the standards by which one is led to believe, the standards in which one feels they must abide by.
