Are we going to trade Rudy by the deadline?

Not that I think we're going to get a Rudy for LeBron deal done (in fact I have no idea what the deal would be)...but does anyone else have the feeling that we are going to be able to move Rudy as part of a pre-deadline deal?

That doesn't take a whole lot these days. But I will give it to him. He has been averaging in the teens and up over 5 assist for the past 5 games in a limited role. Maybe the facts are, that Rudy and Roy are incompatible. They just get in each others way and their game styles contrast to much to be effective together. The same coach is here who was here the last few years. The only thing that has changed, is Roy is out of the lineup, and Rudy is healthy.

Good to See Rudy's stock go up, But once again I would only trade him if the right package came along, which is highly subjective. So we'll have to wait n see!

I'd trade him if some team offered us some awesome pick or good talent back, but the way he's playing, I'd rather keep him and try to coax him back next year with mas dinero. I know, it sounds insane, but if LMA is going to be playing center, we're better off with faster, high-risk/high-reward guys like Rudy.

It would be real foolish to trade Rudy. Might be better to use him more, he definitely helps the team flow and even more important, helps Lamarcus with his game.

Hmmm ... I guess if he's changed his mind and wants to stay here then I'd be all for keeping him, but if he was the cost in some package deal for acquiring a "star" young(ish) point guard or bolstering the front-court then I'd listen pretty attentively to offers.

If we are making a trade by the dead line then some quality needs to go. He would be my choice to move as I just don't think he wants to be here long term. He is acting very professionally this season. And i wish he wanted to be here for the next several years. But he doesn't. So include him with Joel (Who I also like) if an opportunity presents itself.

Spin: Fernandez has averaged 19.3, 6.3 assists and 2.7 three-pointers while Roy has been sidelined the past three games. While Fernandez might not start, he should continue to see well over 30 minutes per game for as long as Roy is out. He'll be a short-term boost in nearly any formats and could end up holding long-term value if Roy's injury lingers all season.

I sure hope Rudy's minutes still stays at 20 min a game when Roy does decide to come back. Rudy has becoming impressive lately.

I'm also dissapointed Cho stated he will unlikely use the exception. Why even apply for it?

Not using the exception is strike against Cho in my book.

This can't be overstated. Patty, especially, (along with his teammates) has made Rudy feel more comfortable in his role, and he's flourishing as a result. And it certainly helps that Nate is forced to not pigeonhole him in as a three pt. shooter.

Cho came here saying he was looking to make moves, the first part of the season shows the team should probably make some moves . . . and then Cho lets an injury exception expire.

Maybe it is the market forces that stoped him from making a move, but if he can't get a trade done with a 3 million dollar exception, I figure it will be that much harder to make a trade without the exception.

At the very least, disappointing that Cho wants to make trades but allows a valuable trade tool just expire.

I think the only person who has pigeonholed himself is Rudy. Ever since that hard hit by Ariza he has been a different player. He is just now starting to get the confidence to go to the rim again . . . and even taht is done with the goal of avoiding contact.

Nate is an easy scapegoat, but I think Rudy is a different player when he is willing to go to the hole. Hope he becomes more and more aggressive as the season goes along.
