Cam Thomas taking a 6 mil qualifying offer. I’m interested to see how things go next year for him and his archetype.

woulda thunk he would get more than 6M. sorta shocked. Guy can score for certain but that is about it.

Cam Thomas overpaid at $6 million. Jordan Clarkson got the minimum. Bradley Beal got $5 million. Sexton had to have a pick attached to his contract to get flipped for a washed up Nurkic.

Teams don't value scorers with crappy defense. Being a 20+ppg scorers on a crappy lottery team doesn't mean much. It's like RB in the NFL - teams realized a decade ago outside of a couple stud players these guys are all interchangeable and not very relevant to winning.

Will be interesting what Ant gets next summer - might not even be the full MLE.

Does Brooklyn now have any cap space to make a Kuminga/Giddey/Grimes type of offer?

What’s an article? It’s all over social media and Pablo broke the news on a podcast.

yeah....the news blew up after I had made that post. At the time, it was just that youtube podcast, and the subsequent reports were 'sourced' from that video

for instance, I made that post you quoted at 9:21 am. The ESPN article came out 3 hours later. And the ESPN article cited the podcaster as it's source

You DO understand who you are replying to right?

I was surprised when I asked AI about SportsTwo that it didn't tell me to stop wasting my time with those loonies.

Here's it's summary of me -

A dedicated, long-time Portland Trail Blazers fan who attends games regularly (including as a season ticket holder) and offers balanced, realistic takes. They celebrate iconic moments and players like Damian Lillard, praise strong management decisions (e.g., trades involving Deni Avdija and Toumani Camara), and aren’t afraid to be critical of underperformers like Scoot Henderson, emphasizing efficiency and development over hype. Overall, they seem like a no-nonsense veteran fan focused on winning and team improvement rather than blind optimism.

Way off. It forgot "Immature, argumentative and overall has no clue what he is talking about."
Have them analyze @THE HCP post history. Quite sure it would come back saying I’m the forum MVP.

It’s not just a podcaster. It’s Pablo Torre, a respected investigative reporter. Why did you need ESPN to confirm they listened to the podcast that you, for some reason, didn’t trust. It’s Pablo Fucking Torre, not BlazersUprise,

Serious question. I have never heard of this guy. Am I alone here?

you're not alone....kingspeed has decided to go nuclear in dumbass nit-picking

when I made my post it was before the news propagated on social media. And all I said was I wanted to see this confirmed by other sources, since like you, I had never heard of the guy

I guess the guy is a soccer player. Honestly had never heard of him but that doesn't mean much. I'm not a pod cast guy.

He's not the soccer player. He's a sportswriter. I know him from Around the Horn and being a sub for both guys on Pardon the Interruption on ESPN. He left ESPN with Dan Le Batard.

Before he was writing and broadcasting for ESPN he worked at Sports Illustrated but that was over twelve years ago. He got that job with Sports Illustrated right after graduating from Harvard.

Here's a picture of him, even if your not a podcast guy you might have seen him.
