Who won last year, I forgot

Oh that’s right, IT DOESN'T FUCKING MATTER

You're just mad because it's a stupid and pointless money grab by the NBA.

It’s pretty cool 2 of them are Blazers.

Walton yes won two titles but is a bigger what if.

Ralph Sampson might be able to be in there too but so many centers could. Yao basically retired at 28.

Griffin I don't think so - he never was at the other players level.

Larry Bird back. Kevin Johnson. Penny Hardaway. Chris Webber. Tracy McGrady.

Arvydas Sabonis.

Interesting Blazer ties;
"2 players in the last 3 years have gotten an offer sheet: Deandre Ayton and Matisse Thybulle"

Booker....6M/month, every month, for 2 years; $199,000/day. $8,276 an hour, every hour of every day for 2 years

nice work if you can get it

Disagree - it's great that they are also regular season games. It would be stupid to have it be any different.

Will be super exciting if some year the Blazers go to Vegas for the semifinal/finals.

Now what I don't understand is the point of the all-star game or weekend.
I haven't watched any of All-Star weekend in 15+ years. It's one of the most over-hyped sports events in the world. I miss the old days of some great dunkers competing against each other.

Insanity

Bad deal for the Suns... Book is a nice player and a fringe all-star. He is not a franchise altering player worthy of being paid the most in the league
Yeah this new CBA is very penalizing for supermax deals too. I don't think it's an overpay because he is their best player and the value of having a guy that the fans connect with is huge but the cap ramifications do make the deal suck for the Suns if they intend on contending again.

It's not insanity. Insanity is people worth hundreds of billions of dollars.

Booker is objectively one of the 40 best basketball players in the world. Basketball, you know, the sport we get on here and type posts about, the sport we all watch a ton of. The value of a year's work for an entertainer on his level who has about a ten to fifteen year window of earning power is extremely high.

The economics make sense. We are a global society that puts a high premium on entertainment and the NBA is a global brand.

It's the same supermax deal Dame signed with the Blazers and many all-stars have. The % is the same it's just the cap continues to go up. Next summer there will be guys with bigger extensions, then the summer after bigger extensions, etc etc.

It’s already $50 million a year. That’s crazy money. I wonder who will be the first player to get $100 million in a year?
Good question. Yes we're passed 75million per year so how many 10% increases until that's $100 million.

Looks to me thats just 3 years.

Now if the cap increases less than 10% some years perhaps that's 4-5 years but seems with the new TV deal and expansion it should.
