Never heard of him OR whatever a Blazer Surprise is.
I guess I'm just not as well educated on sports writers as many others here. I do know a surprise when I get one 41 times a year during the basketball season. Unwrapping that package is always fun.

It’s not just a podcaster. It’s Pablo Torre, a respected investigative reporter. Why did you need ESPN to confirm they listened to the podcast that you, for some reason, didn’t trust. It’s Pablo Fucking Torre, not BlazersUprise,

Bruh why people catching strays?

He's not the soccer player. He's a sportswriter. I know him from Around the Horn and being a sub for both guys on Pardon the Interruption on ESPN. He left ESPN with Dan Le Batard.

Before he was writing and broadcasting for ESPN he worked at Sports Illustrated but that was over twelve years ago. He got that job with Sports Illustrated right after graduating from Harvard.

Here's a picture of him, even if your not a podcast guy you might have seen him.

Thanks. I just don't recall him but now I know where to look and I pay attention.

Also I had never heard of this guy before this.

Mainly because most sports podcasts fucking suck and offer nothing of value.

Anybody else curious what other HOF Mr. Howard entered this year?
I guess the "Redeem Team" (US men's basketball gold medalist team of 2008) was inducted into the HOF as well yesterday and Dwight Howard was on that roster. So he was probably talking about how he was inducted to the basketball hall of fame twice yesterday.

I'm pretty sure that's what he was talking about but the Orlando Magic also have something that for some reason they call their hall of fame, instead of a ring of honor or some shit like that and he was reportedly inducted to that as well this year.

Funny how Melo didn't feel the need to mention that.

Hmmm? I wonder how valid this is. Not bashing Chauncey but stuff like this makes the seat hotter.

Also has Doc Rivers as third best.
Billups has one of the coolest coaches seats in the NBA. Dude just signed a multi year extension and the Blazers are being sold. Zero chance there is a chance until the new owner has full control at the earliest. Doesn't matter how the Blazers perform.

Maybe Billups is on a "hot seat" for opinions of some fans or posters here but that's irrelevant to what the team does.

Maybe?

Oh, then I guess I didn't get your post, and why it would be "valid" and why it would make his seat hot. Maybe I just needed to have my coffee first
I just feel anytime Billups gets that kind of publicity then the expectations grow. Maybe I'm wrong here?

The point made by Shapes Triumph is pretty valid though. he probably is not in any kind of "Hot Seat" situation in the middle of a sale and probably more so on here than with the organization or the casual fans.

Being ranked as a great basketball player when he played increases expectations as a coach?

I put him 2nd in the league behind Kidd. That’s a fair ranking for sure.

I'm not disagreeing with you at all. As they say any publicity is good publicity. Even when the next guy on the list is Doc Rivers.
Been said a few times. Just because a player was good doesn't make him a great coach.

Or maybe you only read the first line of the statement?

And I don't believe that graphic was trying to say anything about any of their coaching abilities at all, so I don't see the relevance.

Well Chauncey is here now and they will not be in contention if they make the playoffs at all. So doesn’t really matter now does it?
