Between him and Stan Van Gundy this should put an end to coaches being hired to both coach and be in charge of personnel.I feel for Thibs a bit.

Mike Dunleavy and Doc Rivers with the Clippers....seems like Pat Riley did for a short time.....Yep, that'll never happen again...(I've been hearing that for 40 years.)
I'd already heard of failed ones before I followed the NBA...then Bill Russell with the Sonics when I moved to the Northwest in 1974...later Don Nelson, etc...
Somebody make a list.
Do you have a bunch of people blocked? This is the 3rd thread you've started today that is already being discussed in other threads. The honeymoon is over.
You're late to the party too!Timberwolves just fired Thibs.

Oh that gif...Bucks and Pacers back-to-back, Kawhi and Kyle each missing one of those games.

Id agree but I bet the paychecks and buyouts worked out ok for him.Thibs should have stayed in his lane as the best defensive coordinator around...he failed as a head coach across the board..better to be the best at something than just mediocre at something else....we could use him as an assistant, that's for sure
I wonder if they ask to talk to Stotts? One tweet: "Flip Saunders is looking down and smiling."
Teams don't do that mid-season...I wonder if they ask to talk to Stotts?
It didn't cross your mind that Thibs firing might be being discuss in the Around-The-NBA thread?I am suppose to know that it was being discussed in a thread whose title has very little to do with Thibs being fired? Sorry, but I don't read every thread and every post in this forum. And no, I don't have a bunch of people blocked. Is it just me, or are you other posters personal mod?
didnt they just clobber the lakers?
Apart from that whole "take the Bulls from a dumpster fire to the best team in the East" thing.Thibs should have stayed in his lane as the best defensive coordinator around...he failed as a head coach across the board..
and breaking Derrick Rose and Joakim Noah while doing so...he rode his starters even more than Nate McMillan used to.Apart from that whole "take the Bulls from a dumpster fire to the best team in the East" thing.
This will be the second time in a row he gets fat checks to talk on tv or go fishing...Chicago bought him out as wellId agree but I bet the paychecks and buyouts worked out ok for him.
Monty was the head coach of the Pelicans for 5 seasons or does that not count?I see Woj says that Monty is on the list of guys that Minnesota may go after. I'd love to see him get a head coaching gig. I really loved that guy. I'm not sure how great of a coach he is, but he seems like such a good dude.
