If NYK could trade Melo to a 3rd team and get a couple assets, they could use those assets along with picks to potentially land Kyrie. How does that make sense?

That "third team" has to be Houston, because that's the only team Anthony's waiving his NTC for. What "assets" are Houston going to give New York to add to the Kyrie deal?

Trade Love to anyone for a borderline top 10 2018 1st.

They could potentially get 6 lottery picks next year, with three top 5 picks (BKN, LAL, their own).

Boston should offer up Isaiah Thomas for Kyrie Irving. That's probably not equal value, but I wonder if Cleveland would get a better offer. Irving would fit Boston's timeline with Tatum, Brown and future picks a bit better.

I wouldn't do that trade if I'm Cleveland. There is nothing compelling them to trade Irving. They still have him locked up for at least two more years. I would personally hold onto him until either the deadline or the draft. Or at least until they know what's happening with LeBron.
