Does this make any sense for Cleveland? Anthony doesn't space the floor as well as Love, is a much worse rebounder and is probably also a worse defender at this point in his career. Is it just so he can play mini-LeBron for the 5MPG James hits the bench during the playoffs?

Melo is a better fit in Cleveland than Love is. Love just isn't reliable for consistent buckets, Melo is and I bet Melo would be terrifying next to LeBron and Kyrie.

Classy move by the Jazz and their owners:

DEJKe2MUAAApso-

Hayward did nothing wrong.

I have a great idea let's put a huge amount of thought energy and stress into bitching about last year and comparing contracts from last summer to this summer when the dynamics of each and every FA period are completely different, last summer to this summer even more exaggerated.

You can get your juice box and participation trophy after the summer.
Its more than just different "dynamics", my friend. You're probably someone who said that the same level players would get the same level contracts this summer, and now that that's not the case, you can't handle people that point it out.

Oh well.

I was under the impression that last off season we needed to 'use it or lose it' in regards to capspace. We weren't going to have capspace this off season anyway, or am I wrong?
You don't loose it all you got to meet is the low end of the salary cap if it goes to your blazers. But what Olshey he reach the top end and this why we don't have know flexibility. Instead of paying players what they are really worth Olshey went opposite he paid how much money they gave him to spend. But he didn't have to spend all of it you could have save it until he need it.

This is absolutely what Cleveland should do if they want to make sure that James leaves them once his contract is up. While Love would still have some mileage left and could kept or traded for some pieces that could keep the Cavs going, Carmelo is nearing the end of the line. LeBron will probably end up in a Lakers uniform and the East will continue to shrivel.

Hayward did nothing wrong.

Absolutely agree, but....

Jazz fans hate Kanter, like Hayward.
Because Kanter bitched, they traded him and got something for him.
They got nothing for Hayward.

As a practical matter, leaving as an FA is MUCH worse than bitching and being thrown out.
It's actually kinda weird.

Which is why I kind of strangely respect what Paul George did. I'll never respect someone wanting to play for the Lakers, but straight up telling the Pacers that he wasn't going to resign at least allowed the organization to get something in return. Sure, KP probably fucked up the trade, but the opportunity was there at least. You have to appreciate honesty. At least Paul George didn't tell them he wanted to go down as the greatest Pacer of all time. Instead, he told them that he wanted to go down on the greatest gold and purple cock of all time.

jesus christ minnesota is gonna be a real bitch to play

Will this just give him one more thing to think about before he shoots; "are my feet the right width"?
I hope it helps; kind of a shame he has to hire his own big man coach.
Damian does a lot of work outs with someone not employed by the blazers also.

has he ever had a boxing coach/trainer work with him? one of the things they work on is not flinching or turning away. too many images of Meyers with head turned AND eyes closed trying to rebound and defend

From everything we have heard this offseason it really sounds like we are giving Meyers one more chance to redeem himself

Probably two more chances to redeem himself. He might be tradeable once he's an expiring contract. Until then, Portland doesn't have much choice. They're not going to cut him at his pay grade.

I just don't know what the plan is for our bigs, we have a log jam there. Who gets minutes? Aminu will play PF. Then you gotta get minutes for Swanigan and Collins just to improve. Vonleh. Meyers. Ed Davis. Are we really going into the season with that many bigs? I mean you gotta get certain guys minutes to showcase for a trade even

I think we will see Aminu back at the 3
