Could some kind soul help me deepen my understanding of the english language ?

I've seen multiple times "an albatross of a contract" being said in reference to Crabbe, Turner, Butters' contract, but does that comes from The Rime of The Ancient Mariner ?

Not sure if this has been mentioned but word is Jamal Crawford headed to Minnesota.

It does, indeed. The more general metaphor comes from a phrase, "an albatross around the neck" meaning something that weighs heavily on the person and that phrase is based on The Rime of the Ancient Mariner.

Ok so now we have to go to the Nets and propose a Crabbe-Carroll trade. We still get a bad player, but we save 26M.

If Meyers sees the court while less than 2 of Nurk, Ed, Zach, Biggie and Vonleh are injured I'm gonna flip out
I have a feeling fans who think Zach is ready to compete for real minutes at the start of the season are setting themselves up for disappointment. I think he'll get there, but I doubt he plays ahead of Davis or Meyers right off the bat.

If he doesn't play ahead of Meyers I'm jumping on the fire Stotts or fire Olshey bandwagon. Depending on who fucked up that bad

I personally can't wait for Meyers to make 85% of this forum eat crow. I still think it will happen, and I still hate the Beibs/Butters nicknames.

Fuck Butters.

Why is he still getting ANY consideration from anyone here in this forum?

He sucks. He's injured near every season. His shooting was a fluke. He's a net negative on the team. I can't wait until his SOFT ASS isn't on the roster...

Jesus... GET HIM GONE....

I agree 1000%

I expect to see him and Crabbe traded by the deadline.

If there are any takers, we might see Ed and Pat on different teams as well. I fully expect to see Ed getting plenty of burn ahead of Zach and Biggie as they are slowly acclimated and inserted into the rotation by mid-season. Of course, every big man we have is ahead of Meyers on the depth chart. Sit his ass at the end of the bench as the towel waver and wait for someone to bite on a trade for him.

Big's take longer to develop.

Maybe Davis I think he will behind ML due to he has better instincts on defense than Leonard and I believe his offense will be better too.

From everything we have heard this offseason it really sounds like we are giving Meyers one more chance to redeem himself

As long as he took to answer a simple question, gives me no hope that he will improve his on-court decision making.

I hate to type this, but.....
Biebs is a legit NBA player, and a pretty good one when he has his confidence. He didn't have it last year, but that won't mean he won't have it this year.

Until he either plays better (and is given the PT to show that) or some time passes, his trade value is low. Next offseason, when he has only 2 years left on his contract, he'll be much more tradeable.

That being said, if Neil can get something in return for him, I'm all for it.

Don't hold your breath. Look what it took for Toronto to offload Damare Carroll. Crabbe, Turner and Meyers are ours until they are in their final year.

I hate liking posts like this, but I did it anyway. Yuk
Well I guess if Neil wants to toss in a couple of first round picks I'm sure he could find a taker for Turner. Crabbe might require 3 firsts, and MyLe would probably require us to surrender every first round pick for the next decade to get it done, but never say never

Stop, just stop.

Indiana's making the playoffs next year. Heard it here first.

Quick: What's your favorite color between blue and red, Meyers?

Meyers: Well.... you see, I really think it would have to be purple because, well..... you know, purple is really a mix of so many things and.... you can't go wrong with like.... having a diverse perspective on life when it comes to basketball which reminds me so much of the color purple and for those reasons I stated I'd have to go with magenta.

Quick: Right. Ima put you down for blue.
