We're better than Utah if Hayward leaves.
We're about even with Minnesota, Denver and OKC IMO. OKC is around a 50-win team. They're not as good as when they had Durant and Ibaka, and Westbrook and George are a funky fit together, and both are extremely bad in crunch time.

Minny has no shooting and no bench. Jeff Teague is a horrible defender who will get burnt in the Western Conference. Wiggins is extremely overrated, and a horrible defender himself. Gibson is a decent role player, but that's it. They got better, but adding Teague, Butler, and Gibson as well as internal improvement won't net them more than an additional 20 wins (which is a shit ton anyway). That would make them a 51 win team.

Denver adds Millsap, but he's declining. He's a good fit and a good defender, but he's not a positive on the offensive end at all. They will be around a 50 win team.

I believe that with Nurkic, we're around a 50 win team as well. We could easily win our division.

Olshey likes Meyers a lot. Stotts really does...not like playing him. It's a vicious circle because if you don't showcase him he's a lot tougher to sell off to someone else.

Sure. That's why he traded for 2 guys and drafted 2 others that do what we want butters to do?

Maybe I'm being over dramatic, but if Utah keeps GH I really think we'll be the worst team in the division and miss out on the playoffs.
I think we are better than Utah with Hayward. Wolves this season will be a problem though I think. It's gonna be tough but this is all because of last offseason. He many times have we heard olshey talk about assets and flexibility? Well talk is cheap because we have zero flexibility and our assets aren't worth much.

If I had to predict:
1.) GSW - 67-15
2.) SAS - 55-27
3.) HOU 53-29
4.) POR 49-33
5.) MIN 49-33
6.) OKC 48-34
7.) DEN 47-35
8.) LAC 42-40

So
MIN added Butler, Teague, Gibson
OKC added George
DEN added Millsap
POR added ________________

You think the clips fall that far? I think they stay top 5, I think if healthy we stay around 6.

MN > POR

Their defense is on another level compared to ours.
How? Their defense was at the bottom of the league last year. And I don't think they got that much better on that end.

Rubio -> Teauge - Defense Downgraded
Lavine -> Butler - Defense Upgraded
Dieng -> Gibson - Even

I think Rubio and Lavine were as good defensively as Teague and Butler will be.

Hell yeah they'll fall. They were tied for 5th last year with 51 wins. Losing CP3 and an improved Western Conference results in a 10-game dropoff.

It is perfectly possible we don't make the playoffs next year. Literally every team got better but us, New Orleans and Utah are probably about our level. Man the way the league is set up we are even more handicapped than we used to be. Just amazing.... we are back right where we started at the beginning of last season. Man, I hope these rookies show something in Summer Ball. We need Swanigan and Collins to make an impact right away.

Neil fucked up haha but it's okay because cake?

Right now, if we traded for someone like Tobias Harris it would feel like we won a championship of some sort.

New Orleans has the best frontcourt in the NBA, they will mesh now that they have a full camp together, DEN is gonna be better too.
They have the worst perimeter group of players in the NBA. Name a perimeter player on their team other than Jrue Holiday.

At this point I just wanna get rid of our bloated contracts...

Crabbe to BKN for Lin+Booker

Turner+2018 top 8 protected to ATL for Belinelli

Meyers+Davis to PHX for Chandler

Dame / Lin / Bazz
CJ / Belinelli / Connaughton
Hark / Aminu / Layman

Nurk / Chandler / FA
