The west continues to get stronger at the expense of the East.

The East might only have 4 teams finish above .500 next year. If that doesn't happen, it's only because their records were elevated playing amongst each other.

Last year, seeds 5-8 were a combined 4 games over .500, and 3 of them lost their best player.

haha hes crazy, man I love his trash talk
theres rivalry coming between POR & DEN, thanks to Nurk and salty DEN fans

but I feel sorry for DEN fans that dont understand, trash talk is all NBA thing, its what makes this sport more interesting and entertaining, nothing personal...

its two way street, thats how it works

Is it their plan to have 6'8 Paul Milsap play center and guard Nurkic?

Milsap will start at PF. He eats scrubs like Vonleh alive in the post. Nurk vs. Jokic is a push since they have different skill sets. There's no good answer for Milsap on this roster unless one of the rookies really surprises early.

We shall see. It wasn't exactly a push at their first meeting last year. Unless by "push" you mean push Jokic so far out of the play that he can't do anything.

We'll see next year "bruh". If you think teams aren't going to scout him and exploit his weaknesses next year you're fucking crazy. Nurk's a good player, but you're making him out to be the next coming of Wilt Chamberlain. As I say, though, we'll see next year.

And why did you take my comment so personally? Are you that insecure? Is Nurkic paying you? Are you his agent?
Then been scouting Nurk for 3 years this guy is not a rookie. The only teams have stop him is when he was on the bench or when he was hurt.

What's going on with Plumlee now that Denver has The Paper Boy? Poor Mase sent from being in line for a huge contract that we couldn't afford this summer, to hardly being mentioned.

They have nothing but high hopes. Jokic is gonna get destroyed again. They traded the wrong Center.

Nurkić > Jokic

Nurk actually plays D.

I like Jokic a lot and would say that against other teams, Nurk and Jokic have a similar impact. Head to head is where Nurk has the advantage.

We are not a bad team and if we get one of these other guys can hit the 3 at regular basis we are as tough of any other team in this league.

divided between non-tax paying teams. There's gonna be some happy owners in couple of years.

I don't think even a multi-billionaire wants to pay that kind of money. Money for nothing. And it's a lot of assets that need to be sold to cover that kind of cha-ching.

Just the tax alone that last year adds up to almost $20M/player on the roster.

We are in the toughest division in the NBA now. Damn, everyone else gets better around us, we sit and watch.

For some reason, Portland fans (not all, just as a collective) fall in love with certain players.

Paul George, Paul Milsap, Paul Provenza...

These players, while good, are always the "grass is greener" players in every scenario. I am in no way saying that Milsap is a bum, but people are acting like Denver getting him (and playing him a LOT of cheddar) is a great thing for Denver. It could be, but it also could blow up in their face.

It's not like he is a can't miss, young, top tier player. An improvement, yes. But he's 32 and on the downside of his career. He's 32 now (he'll be 33 next season). He hasn't played a ton of minutes, so that is a positive. The year they went to the conference finals, he wasn't a factor in them.

He shot 15-43 (35%) and averaged 13.75 ppg.

If he's so good, why was his team only 2 games better than Portland, while being in a weaker conference?

Like I said, he should improve Denver, but I'm not sure it will be a sure fire "better than Portland" move.

They gave Mason a qualifying offer I believe in Denver to bring him back...not sure if he' taken it..if I'm Mason I'm going to the eastern conference anywhere...the west will not boost his brand

I just read that after signing Milsap they have just enough room to make a qualifying offer to Plumlee. Oops, Denny beat me on that one.

Mason's little brother is looking really good for the Knicks summer league team...he's getting all the 50/50 balls and playing his ass off...seems taller than Mason...Knicks got a good project with that kid

I am not scared of Denver. They are a good team but a 32-year old Millsap at $30M a year is not that brilliant business IMO. He's actually going to turn 33 before the regular season even ends, and I won't be surprised if he's declining significantly in the next 1-2 season. George Hill would IMO be more important for them but even then, they have Mudiay and Murray who they need to develop in the same position. I still think for them the most important part for the next 3-4 seasons is develop Murray, Harris and Jokic.
Why does it have to be all about development all the time?

Yikes, $4.6M QO for Mase. Not quite the $15-20M/yr everyone assumed he would get this summer. Go east young man!

Half a $billion in tax.

Over 4 years, though. At ~$140M/yr, I'm guessing they're still profitable as long as they're winning championships and selling seats for $100k per game.

That's easy: Dwight Howard.

It show me that having a cap doesn't work to many loophole in the system. System was base to save the owners from there selfs. They complain not making money well your not making money because there own doing. As much there paying out you might want to not have salary cap.

What??? They have the exact same skillset cept' Nurk plays D.

Nurk Vs Jokic a Push???? Woah....

Did you not watch this game?? He wasn't even in game shape....
