Ben’s wingspan is 7’0.25” which is kinda meh, however, his reach is 9’0.5” — he has legit size to play PF/C.

More nonsense from Morey: O'Connor on his podcast said Morey was asking for 4 firsts, three swaps, and a young player from the Spurs for Simmons.

This dude bout to get ostracized if he keeps making these bullshit offers.

He can ask for it, but any team that gives him that is foolish.

And another Ben nugget from Amick amid the dame noise:

Yet while Portland’s Damian Lillard and Washington’s Bradley Beal both appear to be in their respective holding patterns when it comes to possibly requesting a trade, it’s looking increasingly likely that Philadelphia’s Ben Simmons will be on the move. One source close to the situation handicapped Miami, Toronto and Washington as the most likely landing spots. The Wizards scenario, of course, would only take place if Beal wound up deciding that it was time for a new chapter outside of the nation’s capital. The moving parts, as you can see, are sometimes part of the same puzzle.

But when it comes to Lillard and Beal, it’s fair to wonder if the Bucks’ title might have some impact on their respective thought process. You see a fellow elite player leading his small-market team to the NBA’s mountaintop, and the well-deserved acclaim that comes from achieving that feat without taking the super team route, and one has to think it makes players of this ilk ponder the possibilities all over again.

they're gonna stop taking his phone calls. it's funny people think Olshey isn't making his best offer now, when other GMs like Morey are throwing out such nonsense. The level of delusion coming from Philly is insane right now.

He said Big Man never said SQUAT about Simmons talk about reading more into this --- if anything this should start a new thread saying -- Dame wants Nurk out and more athletic Big next to him ......

OR

Should read -- Dame wants Nurk to lose weight and become more athletic

1. dame considers nurk his brother, he would never do that to him (ask for athletic center instead of nurk)
2. perhaps he likes playing with athletic center (adebayo), nothing wrong with that
3. dame probably wouldnt be against moving nurk, if it improves the team

Spurs turned down a Sixers offer that would have sent them Simmons. Philly wanted back four first round picks, three first round pick swaps, and a young player in return.

Morey is fucking out of his mind.

I still think it's posturing. Morey is basically throwing these offers out to say what he "needs" in return for Simmons. I guarantee it's to get another first rounder or two out of a team like us. Morey is no fool and as long as he has a very available asset like Ben, GMs will not only continue to take his calls but they will continue to call him. Then one GM will find some place in between what they once were willing to offer and these trade proposals from Morey that have them rolling their eyes.

I said it before, this guy is in a hard spot after what his head coach and best player did to his second most valuable player and he's just trying to get the best deal possible because this guy will trade Ben Simmons before the season. It's in Morey's DNA to have to trade assets that he has an itch to trade.

Hold on, did they just refer to WDC as a "small market"??

Is there indication that either Olshey or Morey are even interested in a Simmons deal? I mean even in the scenario of a Dame trade request, I cannot imagine us dealing Dame for Simmons.

If this is for real, you give up whatever you have to in order to get Ben to play with Dame. I think that CJ and RoCo with future picks would get it done and keep Dame here... or because Nurk isn't the best fit with Ben you get the best value for him and send that with CJ and still probably some picks.

I dunno, I guess in this theoretical trade you can then start Little which isn't the worst thing but is he ready? I think Little actually has borderline All-Star potential that isn't close to being tapped, that said Roco is actually the last guy on the team I want to trade not named Lillard. If Olshey is smart (I know hahahaha), he will keep Dame, Powell, RoCo and build around them. I'd also like to keep Nas and Ant if at all possible just for salary vs. output reasons as taking on Simmons or Siakam is really going to strain the payroll once we re-sign Powell. I'm going to keep dreaming of Siakam and Simmons until it happens or circumstances force me to abandon the fantasy for other reasons.

My only hesitation on Simmons, literally the sole argument against him that actually does give me pause is the trade kicker. He will cost a fortune and that makes Nas and Ant wayyyy more important to keep. I still throw in one or the other to get Simmons if need be. When I consider Simmons Salary then Roco + CJ becomes slightly more palatable, but then I want to throw in picks and have Thybulle coming with Simmons. That's just really clearing the cabinet of Vets I trust. RoCo is my #2 building block next to Dame everyone else is far more tradeable, but again the salary thing makes Little as starting SF next to Simmons at the 4 as something you have to consider with RoCo making more than 5x what Little does.

Here's Woj from the Jump today (3 min mark or so)

"they're asking for a lot, almost a Harden-esque type package of all player, draft picks, pick swaps. That's where you'll start."

"i don't get the sense that they're close yet."

I shared in one of the many ongoing threads, while 3rd-hand, a staffer in the league on another team said they are absolutely discussing CJ/Simmons packages. Wasn't, like, a janitor type either, the guy would know. So yes, in at least some capacity, it sounds like that's been discussed at some degree of seriousness.

I don't see any way Simmons goes back to Philly. That thing got real ugly. Morey's got to make himself look good, asking for a so-called haul. But that situation is potentially toxic.

Spurs turned them down. Would you guys make this trade? We’d get to keep CJ and Dame but we’d give up our entire future.

They reportedly asked for Lowry, VanVleet, Anunoby, the 4th pick, and future picks from the Raptors for Simmons.

Morey is, in the opinion of Raptors fans, "smoking dick" thinking he'll get that kind of package from any team after Simmons tanked his value last month.

daryl morey has nothing to lose, hes trying to rob someone and if it works out, great, it it doesnt work out, hell have to settle for some realistic offer

his job is to do whatever it takes to improve the team and hes not afraid to make moves, even if they are risky moves... id much rather have a guy like that, than a guy like neil olshey

if that prick cp3 had stay healthy, theyd likely win a chip that year

Jesus. A whole line up that could make the playoffs for Simmons? Who else do Raptors get?

They never should’ve traded CP3 for Westbrook. This could’ve been their year if they kept the band together.
