We will agree to disagree.
Ben Simmons trade value next year, no matter what, is going to be lower than it currently is if he sits out an entire year without playing. So I have a hard, hard hard time believing they’d keep him going into next year.
Unless he is playing, there is no way they can keep him beyond the trade deadline.
If it gets into next year(!) then the 76ers really have to trade him for something or else they’ve just wasted 2 years of Embiids knees, since Simmons made it clear he will sit out. And if they play chicken again, teams will just say… forgot the additional pick, the new offer is this. Take it or leave it or watch Simmons sit out for another year.
I also HIGHLY doubt Embiid is fine with throwing away this year by keeping Simmons on the team without trading him. He wants help NOW.
imagine if CJ requested a trade, sat out, and we just let it happen. Dame would probably request a trade shortly thereafter for wasting his time or demand that a trade is made because “this season matters too.”
I just can’t see your perspective at all my friend
