BLAKE MUST GO....

But there was something pretty interesting at play at the end of the game. Brandon in that high pick and roll or the 1-4 flat can absolutely not have Miller in the corner on the ballside. Detroit doubled Brandon every time and left Miller completely alone. That doesn't mean they can't play together at the end of close games, but Nate is going to have to adjust that play, bench Miller or come up with something completely different.

My guess is that Miller gets moved before the deadline, he can't continue to play this spot up shooting role that Nate tries to force him into. I'm not exactly enamored with Blake at the end of games because of his tendency to try and do too much, but he does at least present the threat of hitting an outside shot.

We missed Travis tonight. The same unit with Travis instead of Miller would have been a lot more efficient offensively - because Travis can not be left that way, and if he is - he will hit the jumpers.

But, I agree. Something has to happen. The Miller/Roy combo is just not working offensively as currently constructed.

Sacrilege! Shun him! :devilwink:

I don't think we missed Outlaw at all. The team did just great for 40 minutes without Outlaw, and there's no guarantee that Outlaw would have been able to hit shots at a better rate than the team did in the final 8 minutes without him.

If Outlaw had played, we might never have built a 20 point lead because he might have shot the team in his foot.

Blake was all right tonight. Other than that big turnover at the end, he played well for the most part. I'm not the biggest Blakey fan either and don't think he should be getting 35-plus mins, but we really have no choice at the moment with the injuries we've got.

My mistake, this thread was posted at the wrong time. This thread had nothing to do with Blake's game tonight but his entire body of work since becoming a Blazer. I just don't think someone with his skill set should get 30mpg. He is taking minutes from other players with higher upside. I firmly believe he will be traded, along with others, for a legit third scoring option at the SF.

Steve Flake wasn't all that bad tonight but I'm pretty sure he'll regress to his status quo mediocrity.

It seems to me that this thread has more to do with the last 13 games than with his entire body of work. I'm optimistic that he can work it out.

The thread might be predictable but it's true and since I've never got to vent my frustrations on how painful it is to watch this below average player I feel this is the best place as any. He doesn't need to play less, he needs to not play at all. Bayless has the potential to be an above average player at least, Blake will NEVER be anything other than a mediocre stop gap player. He makes a big three once every five games but we wouldn't need it if he wasn't playing and making mistakes that force us to need one of those shots (like throwing the ball to the pistons in the posession before his "Big Three" tonight). It's sad that Bayless has to sit behind this looser!

Trouble is: Playless cannot handle the basketball! Watch him as he looses his dribble nearly every time! It is scary - I wait in anticipation for him to a) stare at the ball as he tries to dribble it; b) wait for him to put is head down and drive (probably closes his eyes and dreams of the big dunk he's gonna attempt); c) acts like he's calling a play....then fails to pass the ball around the horn and get some ball movement generated; d) dribbles off his knee into the oposing player's hands.......and this is just his offensive game! Defense: a) defense?

Sorry Playless lovers: Move Him!

I don't care if he made that three at the end or not,

Steve Blake is the equivalent of nothing; he brings nothing to the team but turn-over’s, mediocre plays, and wasted minutes. This team will never win anything with him playing major minutes. I hate how Nate and the rest of this franchise think he's something he's not! Even our Broadcasters give him too much credit, WTF!?

You know zero about the game of basketball. In the game against Atlanta, Blake had 2 turnovers, yes. TWO turnovers. But that wasn't ALL he brought. He also brought EIGHT POINTS and ELEVEN ASSISTS.

Tonight, he gave us superb shooting and clutch heroics. 15 points on 5-10 FG shooting is hardly nothing.

Learn the game, then post.

Please. I can't even believe I responded to your post. It was the equivalent of nothing.

I'm glad you have found such a nice guy to have a man crush on. I watched the Atlanta game and could care less about what Blake did because we lost! He is an average player who will NEVER be a major contributor on a championship team. If you think he will, you’re lying to yourself! Feel free to question my Basketball IQ but I have been a fan my entire life, played in High School and JC, and don't need to take personal attacks at people in cyber space to state my opinion. Blake might be the second best PG on the team right now but he is shit and needs to go. As for your other question, "who", I've already posted in another thread my desire to ship him, Outlaw, and Rudy for Caron Butler.

So what you want to trade him for Chris Paul? First that won't work, which most people know, but he is the perfect role and team player. We are 9-4 with him as a starter, I don't see a problem with that.

As usual, everyone blames Blake. However, he was not on the court at the start of the 4th, when that Blazer unit went to sleep and allowed Detroit to gain momentum. By the time Blake came in, it was too late.

This post made me think that Blake was a superstar. We lost a good portion of our lead until Blake came in with his superman cape to carry us home! BLAKE FOR PRESIDENT.

Please in the name of decency stop posting this ridiculous phrase.

There are a couple of people on the board who know a great deal about basketball.

But only a couple.

And you most certainly aren't one of them.

Neither am I for that matter.

The rest of us muddle along with opinions based on half baked stats and moments in the game.

Why continually say something on a board you wouldn't in a million years have the courage to say to someones face?

It's sad. It make you look like a spoiled child and a coward.

Just stop.
