With the impending sale, this team appears to be abandoning the youth movement and rolling with over paid, aging vets that can get them 41 wins. Fools gold.

Not for a championship. I'd love to be wrong. I don't see it. There are at least 5 or 6 players that were in the finals better than anyone on our team.
 
The salary cap gets really fucking complicated after this year. One thing that could save them is if they package Sharpe with Jerami for a starter upgrade. I don't see a target though.
 
Have you noticed how almost every trade Portland makes is kind of a head-scratcher? We can’t believe how much it sucks at first, and then we spend days trying to convince ourselves that it might be a smart move after all, and we’ll just have to wait and see.

I’d love to see the Blazers make one clearly and indisputably brilliant trade before I die.

I hope you're right. I'm not holding my breath though.

We've just gone into too many seasons under Joe (all three of them) with what seems to be a half built roster... it's seemed fucking aimless and this move by itself does nothing to disrupt that aimlessness.

Last year we made a trade a couple days before the draft - and basically had zero changes over the next 12 months.

This roster today plus our pick might very well be what we have opening night.

If we were going to trade for KAT - Jrue makes way more sense as a teammate than Ant.

I'm not sure that KAT would work here. If we don't have to give up our youth or picks Id try the experiment though.
 
I hated being in purgatory for the Dame era but I also HATED knowing we weren’t making the playoffs in October. Let’s see the other moves before giving up all hope.

True, but this just set them back. Portland is not gonna trade Jrue in his expiring season for anything. I remember RLEC and baking the cake. Unless there is a deal for Scoot Joe was fleeced. No good reason to relegate him to the bench behind Mr. Defense as that is all Jrue has going at this point. Hoping that Jrue is gonna be flipped, but if the paperwork is in to the league already, pitiful. Ayton for KAT sounds just as good now. KAT's defensive liabilities are covered by all the fabulous defensive players Portland now has, and if they keep pick 11 they can draft another 6'6 defender and try to win games 86-84.

Not to be a whiny asshole but his thread was titled, "Ant Traded" I think. The other thread had this title... I doubt anyone is really bent out of shape about it though, just people complaining a little.
