Not to be a whiny asshole but his thread was titled, "Ant Traded" I think. The other thread had this title... I doubt anyone is really bent out of shape about it though, just people complaining a little.
I merged the two threads, HCP's thread was first but I used the other thread's title.

Oh we'll definitely have to give up some picks
Then let him stay in NY. He's a difficult player to build a roster around and on a massive supermax. Id give them whatever Ayton Grant Timelord Thybulle type vets they want.

NY traded 5 FRP for Bridges.... I think they want players not picks.

Maybe Ayton for that Lakers package then all of that plus whatever from us to NY.

Oh boy. If we traded Sharpe in a package for Beal.......

:bwpopcorn:

I'm here for the Cronin critiquing but let's not get carried away. That would be absolutely nuts on a few different levels. Maybe the first being adding Shaedon to Booker and Green wouldn't really sit right.

Doing this trade the day before the draft makes me think we're trading the 11th pick for a kat type player

Edit: couple days before the draft

Free Scoot by having a player on a 104million contract start in front of him?

I'm not convinced he's starting. We just turned the worst defensive player in the league into one of the better ones. Seems like further commitment to defense but also having the flexibility to yield more assets for him like the first time around with Jrue.

jrue is cooked

It makes no sense cap-wise, but they did get better for next year because they now have a backup PG. (regardless if it's Scoot or Jrue)
Jrue, Shae, Grant, Deni, and Ayton. With Camara, Scoot, Clingan, Thybulle, and Coward off the bench. Not bad

Camara off the bench?! HELL NO. He needs to start and play big minutes for us to win

this team is obsessed with expensive ex-celtic mentors apparently.

brogdan first, now holiday

I don't think they are trading Scoot.
What if he asks out? I would. Not gonna develop playing behind Jrue after playing behind Ant. No crunch time, game ending burn. No leverage to get a big payday. First train out.

This seems so far out of left field that it makes me wonder if a deal to sell the Blazers has been agreed to and the new people are trying to make a big splash. Holiday as step 1.

I like the deal. Wheels are in motion, things are happening.

So instead of no trades will be made because Jody is selling the teams, maybe it will be let's go out swinging, and not worry about the cap in two years.

why the fuck did we want that holiday contract...

and we paid picks to get it?
In a vacuum, if I was trying to win the way Chauncey has been saying he wants to win since day one, Ant and two measly second round picks for Jrue Holiday makes sense. However, that move did not happen in a vacuum. Jrue is coming off of his worst season, he has a lot of money on the books and we all thought we were trying to build a team whose championship window would be opening when Jrue is 38 or 39.

Yeah, if we're trying to win now, the deal isn't bad but it does need another deal at least to make it make sense. We should have some patience, I guess.

I have a feeling (and have heard nothing) that the pick and a player or two are headed out. Just a guess…

How is Jrue cooked ( he's not ) .. I think he still has another season maybe 2 of being solid but I do agree the window to get off him again is prolly a little over a year ( next offseason ) and pray he does not do a Grant nosedive. However he is not cooked and I am sorry but people who believe this are only saying it cause they are not a fan of the trade and are using this weak ass reasoning to justify there opinion. Now this might end up being a bad trade but more then likely it's a bad trade cause Cronin could not do anything else to shape the roster to make this move make sense OR flip him for something else.

Can some of the advanced stat guys show me how bad Jrue fell off?
