To the Knicks is my guess.I have a feeling (and have heard nothing) that the pick and a player or two are headed out. Just a guess…
Whatever the motivation is, I just want a roster that makes sense and is moving towards winning more than we lose. So this better be the first step and not the only one. This seems so far out of left field that it makes me wonder if a deal to sell the Blazers has been agreed to and the new people are trying to make a big splash. Holiday as step 1.
Jrue for Jabari!First thing I thought when I saw this trade was Houston. Don't know enough about salaries and trade rules, but Houston would be the perfect place for Jrue.
Probably not as many as he's lost us...Hate away! That dude has won us some games. Plain and simple!
I like the deal. Wheels are in motion, things are happening.
Maybe so.That has to mean we're trading pick 11, along with another big contract and maybe one of our young guys to get another win now piece.
Sir, you are a true fan. I have argued with you about it in the past but I've come to really appreciate your loyalty to our team. I may not always agree with it but I really respect it.They obviously have a plan, and I'm excited to see what they put on the floor next year. As is, we have a hell of a defensive team
you do realize billups started a cooked jerami grant ahead of deni avdija to start the year?
How is Jrue cooked ( he's not ) .. I think he still has another season maybe 2 of being solid but I do agree the window to get off him again is prolly a little over a year ( next offseason ) and pray he does not do a Grant nosedive. However he is not cooked and I am sorry but people who believe this are only saying it cause they are not a fan of the trade and are using this weak ass reasoning to justify there opinion. Now this might end up being a bad trade but more then likely it's a bad trade cause Cronin could not do anything else to shape the roster to make this move make sense OR flip him for something else.
Hate away! That dude has won us some games. Plain and simple!
Yeah, it's either really incomplete (which Joe has done to us) or there is another trade coming up quick. Then just let Ant expire and say good bye at the end of the season. If this is it, this is worse than giving Ant an extension. Never thought I would type that.
We gave up trying to become a championship caliber team when we started trying to make the playoffs this season. If they keep Holiday, this is one of the dumbest Portland trades ever. The Blazers are nowhere close to being a championship team, and Holiday will not get them there.
Looks like our GM, along with the majority of the fans, thought it was time for Ant to move on.Other than it being a move for the sake of a move, what do you like about it most?
I didn’t watch any Celtics games, how bad did Jrue fall off?
I don't hate him. He seems like a good guy. He was just in the way.Good for Ant. Happy for him actually. I don’t get the hate. Hope he does well.

That's good. Where the disagreement is... the return. I'm hoping there are more moves and going to wait before judging.
grant was awful all season.Deni was pretty awful to start the season.
And so will Jrue...I don't hate him. He seems like a good guy. He was just in the way.
Most of the team was. The first few games I thought Deni was our best player just miscast in his role.Deni was pretty awful to start the season.
You don’t remember the Jim Paxon trade?this team is obsessed with expensive ex-celtic mentors apparently.
brogdan first, now holiday
I tried to make it all the way through this thread but it's just too depressing.
Cronin is an absolute terrible GM. He studied Sam Presti very closely, it seems, and does the exact fucking opposite of how OKC has built a good team.
If we wanted to move Simons, we would have been better off cutting him, eating this year's salary, and then not giving so much money to a 36 year-old who hasn't played in 70 games in a regular season since 2017-18.
I don't know why I'm surprised that Cronin and the Blazers made this kind of shit move, given Cronin's history and management's willingness to extend Cronin in spite of his utter lack of success on the court and in rebuilding the roster.
I'm jealous of bemacs mindset. For real.Sir, you are a true fan. I have argued with you about it in the past but I've come to really appreciate your loyalty to our team. I may not always agree with it but I really respect it.
I would like to have that optimism. This is truly idiotic on its own. What does this tell Scoot? That he has no future and good luck earning a new big pay day.The plan has to be to move Jrue to Houston, Indiana, etc. Somebody that thinks they are one move from competing. You have to admit that adding Jrue and KD would make for an interesting Houston team.
Whenever a team goes up for sale they have a fire sale. Dump the overpaid vets and get younger while accumulating picks. I can't see the FO thinking this team is now complete.
