For what it's worth I'm hearing it's Dort + 12 + Dal 1st + 34 and a future second. Rumor is Griffen has climbed our draft board.

Yep...lol I've typed DAL so much I gotta awful auto correct... but yeah that's what my source is saying. He thinks it's option 3 or 4 on what we have going. I couldn't get other details but since he works in the NBA and nailed the NOP trade I thought I would share.... ironically I probably won't be hearing much as we are moving to ATL and he works for the "local franchise" here and gives me info when we hoop together...

Unsubstantiated "source", but we also have many of those here.

Basically 7 for Dort + 12 + Den23 1st + 34 + Future second

So 12 + Dort + Den first in 2023 + 34 + future 2nd for #7?

Hard to say no to that kinda value even if Dort clogs up our guard rotation. I don't like the part about Griffin though.

Does Dort + a pick in the 20s + 2 seconds move you from 12 to 7? Hard to say. The hype around Dyson Daniels has been pretty loud over the last few weeks. If that's the case, there's a significant drop of after 7 in the lottery.

I'd do that deal. Though I don't like his mention of us focusing on Griffin with that pick. Not that I've done much scouting of anyone. I don't know who I would prefer with 12.

I think the question then becomes what does the 23 pick/ the mil 25 pick get you? Satisfies the 2 first desire from Det for Grant. So essentially we'd be turning 7 and the Milwaukee pick into Grant, Dort, and prospects at 12 and 34.

Curious bball fits but not a bad value play.

But ya the dropoff from 7 to 12 could be great as per recent valuations

Anyone but AJ for me. Duren/Sochan/Eason/Davis would all be fine at 12.

Some guys are ranking Davis as high as their 5/6/7th best player in the draft. If we could snag him and also acquire another rotation player, that could be really solid.

But I don't want Dort. I don't think he makes sense. He's a role player. That's not what we need. That's such a pedestrian move if Cronin pulls the trigger. It's still that Olshey mentality and it's a losers mentality.

What if we flipped Hart with bledsoe for a forward?

Dort would be good in Detroit next to Cade. Maybe we flip dort to Detroit? So it basically becomes moving from 7 to 12 to pick up grant. Maybe need to include one of the 23 Denver or 25 Milwaukee picks too.

Dort is a keeper.

You need his defense in the west. You trade for him solely for his defense.

Dort > Grant

you can’t handle the truth.

just like you can’t handle mrs. hcp.

I tried to handle her the first time

the next day I scheduled an appointment with my orthopedic surgeon. The second time I tried it I had to see my proctologist. There won't be a third time

Dort > Grant

he’s also improved offensively. In a more structured system/team I think you’d see better efficiency. But his defense, it’s so fun to watch

I think the fit is great. But scouts have to question, is the best prospect at 7 a drop off, or major drop off from 12?

Is Daniels going to be way better than Sochan or Duren if they're there at 12?

Adding, Dort, Grant and Sochan or Duren would be pretty damn good in the direction of defense. Gotta admit.

I like Dort. But he’s a very slight upgrade over Hart

PG - Dame, Ant
SG - Ant or Dort, Dort or Ant
SF - Little, Hart
PF - Grant, Sochan, Winslow
C - Nurk, Sochan

That actually looks pretty damn awesome defensively. Plus more opportunities for deals as you get further into the summer with MLE and other exceptions.

What’s wrong with having two of them anyway?

People are still thinking of the NBA of old. Hart could totally play SF. The SG/SF/PF are often positionless. Andrew Wiggins used to be a SG and was playing as a PF on a championship team. Tatum was often playing PF out on the floor. It's a different time and it's less about height as it is just great defense. Dort and Hart together would be deadly to be honest.

I think Powell is to blame. He was so bad defensively that now the thought is no other guard can play the three. I remember having the same convos when I wanted to trade for Marcus Smart earlier in the season. Hart was starting at the four at one point for the Pelicans and is a top rebounder. He can def play the three. Just give me all the dogs.

This still isn’t a contender though, and that’s the problem.

Lazy response. If that's your bar, might as well not make any moves then.

Can anyone beat a healthy Warriors? The Blazers just need to get within earshot and see where the chips fall. I don't see why this team can't be a top 4 in the West to be honest. Probably even better if everything lines up.
