I want to see Meyers go full gorilla style on Jokic. Use all six of those fouls.
as long as those 6 fouls arent in 10 minutes. If knater isnt effective due to injury then we need collins and Meyers to be less aggressive so that they can stay on the court. Worried if Kanter isnt effective then Nugs will kill us on the boards.

Fake muscle? So Jokic's blubber is fake?? Alert all Developmental Biology textbooks: updates are in order STAT

You know what I mean. How easily does he get pushed around for rebounds? Given how much he works out and flexes, it makes no sense.

That's Jokic' skill not strength, IMHO. He is very highly skilled.

He went through Aldridge like he wasn't even there. He's even backed down Nurk pretty easily. Deceptively strong.

the one thing I worry about (other than Kanter's availability):

Blazers shot 36% from three in the regular season; they shot 41% against OKC. If they 'regress' to their season average, that's around 4 less points a game. That could be significant. I just don't know how long Portland can maintain their hot shooting from distance
Especially considering that Lillard (26.8%) and McCollum (26%) shot so poorly from the three point line against Denver this year. Maybe they could make some adjustments but Stotts was quoted as saying adjustments are not important. (I can always hope he is trying to mislead them!)

To be fair, I could probably do that too. At least twice in a game!

In all seriousness though, even under Pops I don't think much of LA as a defender. Touting that Jokic treated him like a rag doll is very faint praise, IMO. Not that I think we'll do well defending Jokic, just that dominating LA isn't something to hang your hat on.

Yeah, they need to adjust for decreased air resistance on those long shots!

agree, however Denver shot only 10% on threes in game 7. They like the blazers can be on and off with threes.
GS won shooting 31.8% against Houston, I figured they'd need to do better than that against Houston?
Raptors shot 33.3 % and won.
Celts shot well from the arch at 42%.

If we can get some scoring down low and shoot mid 30's form three or better and play tough D we should be formidable.

Stotts was never quoted saying "Adjustments are not important".
Try again.
He did however say teams playing well was important. You could even stretch it out and say he said it was more Important. On that i totally agree with him. Players playing well makes the other team have to make adjustments.

Aldridge is stronger than you credit him.

I wish you had quoted my whole post; I can't even find the damn thing and I got to go to work right now.

He definitely says adjustments are not as important as playing well. Just his tone, to me, carried the implication that he doesn't think adjustments are important. I guess every fan can decide for himself, taken in the context of his coach style, means.

Adjustments are HOW teams/players play well as you get deeper in the POs.

Who the hell votes "no idea"?
You should vote Blazers in four if you have any kind of love for the Blazers.
How did I vote? Denver in four. Oh people people, I'm totally incapable of that.

FWIW, on espn web site, almost all the "experts" are picking Portland. I know, that doesn't win any games, but rather see that than Blazers have no chance.

I am happy to say that I will be going to Game 3. My first game of any kind since 2014. I am very excited. Standing Room Only... but at least I'm in the building. I know that halftime gets a little nuts but I would be willing to go to a public section and say hi to some people. Hopefully the Blazers are up 2-0 at that point :)

I guess we'll find out tonight if Terry has had a change of heart... All I know is that I didn't need to see it a second time to know that the 5-man bench unit should never be implemented in the playoffs. Oh, and that Moe can't guard Jokic. I mean, I woulda thought that was a given and we didn't need to see it played out. Yet there we were...

Im thinking we will be a much better team tonight.
Rip City

I wish ML cut to the basket like Nurk but that is a coaching staff mistake. I don't like the Three point shot he takes.
