Exclusive Breaking: Blazers to preview two of the new Nike uniforms this weekend (1 Viewer)

I actually know a little about this.

It's a silicon forest based company.

They approached the Blazers.

Blazers mocked up a sponsor patch.

Now it's up to the company's board to give the thumbs up or down.

For real? That's cool. Do you know which company it is exactly?

Is it Intel? HP?

RipCityTwo!

Huh.
Laika would be my first choice.
Airbnb seems like an obvious option.
Probably something like Genentech or Biotronik.
Those are the only ones I can think of that would be big enough to afford the marketing cost.
Oh - I know! McAfee! If he doesn't get the patch will he eat his own dick? Self-eating/sucking sure has been in the news lately...

LAIKA is the only one of those companies headquartered here

Where is that located at? Is it bolted to the wall? (can't tell for sure, but it doesn't look just painted on). Asking for a friend....

They were actually thinking of removing the sash all together? Good Lord, that thought should've never entered anyone's mind. The stripes are synonymous with the Trail Blazers.

My thoughts on the actual jerseys:

Good: KEPT THE STRIPES, Rip City word mark on the shorts is a nice touch
Bad: Why is there still silver/grey anywhere near the team's color palette? Get it the fuck outta here. The team/city name on the front feels lonely. There's a color stroke around the numbers but not on the team/city name. Red should be our primary color and the team/city name should've been red. No stripes on the shorts is way too vanilla for my liking. Lastly, v-neck? Bleh.

Bottom Line: Just wear these

Pretty much agree with this entire post. The more I look at the new unis, the less I like them. The only part of your post I disagree with is the rip city "belt buckle". I know people loooooove it whenever "rip city" is used, but IMO it should be yelled not written. And when it comes to the unis, it goes against the clean, simplification that the designers were going for. It pulls your eye away from the two parts that should be the focal point - team name & stripes. There are stripes on the shorts, but from what I've seen so far they are only on the side and don't come to the front like the ones in the pic you posted.

And at first I was willing to look past the v-neck, but I've never liked v-necks and the more I look at it the more I hate it.

The "contrasting" (ha!) trim on the numbers sucks. In order to truly contrast the lettering/numbering should be done in red, with the outline done in black for white jerseys, or white for black jerseys.

I'm one of the few that doesn't mind the idea of grey being introduced into our color scheme. BUT, it has to be grey and not silver/pewter or any other form of metallic. And, it should not be added to the stripe. The only way I might be cool with it is as an alternate jersey color. I'm not expecting many people to agree with me here - that's fine.

I still think we have some of the best looking unis in the league. But, as I suspected, Nike didn't do us any favors - their changes range from boring to bad. Their design house lives on reputation alone.

It's interesting to see opinions from outside of our fanbase....or outside of this forum, anyway. People on reddit and other basketball-related sites who identify with other teams seem to love them. "Fresh," "fire," "so glad they kept their classic look," "best jerseys in the league."

Even clutchfans were giving props. That should say something.

Interesting that we don't have a sponsor yet on our uniforms. Or are they waiting to reveal that later? I bet there will be one by the start of the season.

Maybe it's Nike? :dunno:

They will likely look better when the players actually wear them, also is the Nike logo gonna be on the actual player worn jerseys? Cause I don't remember seeing an Adidas/reebok logo on player uniforms just the NBA logo.

Adidas made sure to put a logo on them:

Actually the adidas was NOT on the game worn unis....... just ones you could buy at the store. Nike's logo will be on the game worn unis. First time there has been the logo of the company making the unis if I'm not mistaken.

I still want to see if Adidas buys logo space on a Nike jersey
