I like the ripcity on the waistband of the shorts...probably my favorite change...the fonts to me are a bit flat...I like embossed fonts with borders stiched around them framing the color.

I meant the unis you see them wear in games have never had logos before. The NIKE swoosh showing up on the new ones is the first time. I believe the picture dviss posted is from one for sell to the public.

He's right:

These jerseys are sick. I like the red around the number but not around the name. It makes the name look clean and the number pop. I like that the slash is a little more slanted and a little thinner. I'm really excited to see what this creative alternative jerseys will be.

Ouch! Nuggets just unveiled their patch for there new unis........

Honestly.... these advertisements on the uniforms are really tipping me towards the edge of not wanting to follow the NBA at all.

It just proves that the NBA holds nothing to be sacred. Do you think the Red Sox or the Yankees would desecrate their historic uniforms with an advertisement for mattresses?

Changing the arena names was bad enough, because those should be a reflection of the city they reside in, but putting advertisements on the jerseys is pure greed. Nothing more, nothing less.

Maybe, but soccer teams have been doing it for a long time.

Fitting that the Nuggets sponsor is Western Union. Might as well advertise payday loans on jerseys.

Looks like I have some work to do to convert you. Timbers games are awesome.

I love the Timbers. Never been to a game but don't need converting. My son loves them. We will go. I just won't buy a jersey for me. He has one.

(a) It's basically been done since inception, unlike NBA/NFL/MLB/NHL.
(b) It's still tacky as fuck.

Most ironic, most fitting, or most satirical team sponsors on jerseys might be a good thread topic for some of the idle creative minds around here.

Which is the whole reason I'd never buy a Timbers jersey.

I don't fucking work for Alaskan Airlines...

Soccer teams have an excuse though. They don't run even remotely the same amount of commercials, so this is one of the few ad revenue streams for them. Do you think the NBA is going to get rid of commercials on that level?

Soccer teams need ads on their jerseys.

Race teams need ads on their cars/motorcycles, etc.

There are some sports that are totally justifiable in having ads on their uniforms or vehicles, but the NBA/NFL/MLB do NOT need it. They have tons of revenue from commercials.

You would honestly not watch the NBA anymore because of a little patch on a uni? I guess you would, because you don't watch other teams games right? I would think if people were really fans of the game itself, something like this doesn't even register.

What kind of communist bullshit is this?! There's never enough revenue! Capitalism is about more, not enough! :ghoti:

Which New York team gets to wear the Godfather's Pizza patch?

Heyyy, it's a pizza you can't refuse!

This is a dumb reason not to watch the NBA these patches aren't that bad and they have to be in the team colorway. Nothing to be sacred? C'mon now, the rest of this youre just being dramatic. Every business in the world tries to maximize earning potential. It's called capitalism.
