Bucher just said on Mike and Mike that he is hearing Brandon's knees aren't that much different from what he has been playing with in the past, but more with how he is being asked to play, and who he is being asked to play with.

If there is even a little truth to that, and there probably is, Brandon should be sent off for anything we can get. This is our leader?

ya know we keep making jokes about it..... but looking at his expressions and reading things like this.... i have to wonder if or when miller gets traded, does roy suddenly "give his knees another shoT" ?????

I just don't know what to believe anymore. The way I look at it, the injury situation with Brandon is horrible. But if I could have my all star level SG back I would still take him in a second. I just don't think it is going to happen. My gut feeling is Brandon shuts it down this year soon, and then goes the way of Penny Hardaway/Allan Houston, and we will have to hope the new CBA agreement gives the Blazers the ability to cut loose a player in order to move forward.

If this is true and Brandon comes back and has a miraculous recovery after Miller moves on I'm going to lose a lot of respect for him. I still can't quite buy that's what's going on though, I have to believe that he sounds way too dejected in interviews and is too competitive to be that big of a bitch.

I would love for this to be true. Would I lose some respect for him. Sure. But it beats the alternative. This means we could play him (Start/or off the bench) or we would have a trade asset.

They can spin it in a way that most fans will accept and everything will be OK. I have seen it over and over (See Carlos Boozer) where a player was perceived to be fine but sat out indefinitely until he was ready to come back. In the Boozer case everyone was pissed (coaches. teammates, and fans) but all was forgotten after he started playing well again.

The best case scenario is that Bucher is partially right. His knees are the same, but because he was struggling with his game his ego was bruised and he needed an excuse. Now, after a while he can say he feels well enough to contribute with a new role (with out the ball in his hands) and it will be easier on his ego.

That is best case scenario. But i doubt that is the case.

maybe its a little of both.

dont forget last year with his hammy being a mental issue. roy is starting to reveal he has a few mental flaws. nicest way i cam say it.

I have a really hard time believing Roy is sitting out because he wants to.

I had a hard time believing Jose Canseco as well, but pretty much everything he said was right regarding steroids.

I don't think Brandon is sitting out because he wants to, but I think he could and would be playing if Miller weren't here

I have no idea what is true here, but the Blazers do play fairly well without him and if in fact he is aggravated by Miller it would have to really bother him that we are winning without him. Who knows?

Honestly it's probably both.

B-Roy doesn't like playing with Miller for reasons I can't really understand AND B-Roy is in a lot of discomfort and has lost a step.

Really the why of it doesn't matter much.
B-Roy is out and the team is playing just about as well without him as with him.

In addition, with the increase in ball movement the teams chances of winning in the playoffs has actually increased now that Roy is out.
They still aren't great but at least they have a chance.
Iso-Roy never had a chance at all.

The more the Blazers succeed without Roy, the less of a leg he has to stand on int the "I want my kind of players" category. 5-2 since the last game Roy played on 12/15, which is pretty amazing, even with the YMCA teams we've faced.

This is ridiculous. You can clearly see that he's lost some jumping ability, and explosiveness. Is he just faking it? So that last play against Phoenix, when he took that dumb 3pt shot, that was just an act? The dude really is hurt. He has no meniscus in either knee, the meniscus is the shock absorber. You can run your engine without oil for awhile, but eventually it will wear out. Yes, it was running all those miles without oil, but that doesn't mean your engine is "faking an injury". That is the same stupid logic you guys are using.

I would also point out if Portland was trying to retain any value out of Roy, that they would refute any messages that his knee's are shot. It is in their best interest to keep his value up, and possible interest in him from other teams, alive.

I'd like to add, that the only thing we've lost with Roy is the presence of a guard that can get hot and break his man down 1 on 1 when the offense is struggling. That's where we miss him. But Roy didn't make the players around him better. He was just a 1 on 1, offensive player, just like a Zach Randolph. I said that 3 years ago and everyone thought I was crazy, but now, you're seeing that it's true. You get rid of players like that, and the rest of the team just picks up the scoring slack by playing a more team oriented style (which generates easier baskets).

Oh comon man. Roy is not Zbo that is fucking ridiculous. Roy averaged over 5 assist per game for most of his career until this year. Hell it is hard for me to ever remember Zbo passing the ball once he got it, period. So now Roy is Zbo? Completely ridiculous.

ive been saying this all along....andre miller = the ache in roys knees. he will be back when andre is gone

I don't buy it. I think this is Roy making excuses, either to himself or to others. In the games that I've watched with him in it, he just hasn't looked like the same player at all. I've seen guys coasting before, and Roy does look like he's not giving the effort that he has in the past, but a lot of it also seemed like it was because he COULDN'T do what he had done in the past. I think Roy is unhappy because of his health, and he's taking it out on Miller.

Roy says he saw a psychologist during the summer who taught him how to be a leader. Ever since the hypnotism, he has talked like a zombie, ignoring the fact that he's no longer a star. If Paul Allen hires someone from Haiti to undo the hypnotic suggestion this team may still make the playoffs.

I've been saying this for the last several weeks. Brandon is sitting out until the new PG arrives. In the one game he played without Miller this season, Brandon looked just fine. Got to the basket. Got to the free throw line. Orlando needs a back up C. Once Joel proves he's recovered, he goes to the Magic for Jameer Nelson.

if any of this fakeness is true it's just absolutely pathetic for a 'pro' athlete getting paid what he does to be this childish and selfish.

i hope it's not, but there seems to be more and more 'rumors' of this turning up.

I wish it were true that Roy was just pouting...but he's not. Roy's knees are done unless the team can find some treatment to correct the problem.

They didn't look "done" in the game that Miller was suspended from.

You mean when he shot 5-15?

That game doesn't matter anyways. He has no meniscus in either knee and the problem only gets worse with time.

The fact that he was excited that Miller was out and that it gave him a little extra spring in his step just makes him look worse.

You must know plenty of good surgeons in California, why don't you have them remove your meniscus from one knee and jog about a thousand miles a year and see what happens?

Do that and then realize that Brandon has been said to have no meniscus in either knee and then you won't worry about one game. Shaq can still dominate stretches of games, old and out of shape as he is.

This is such ridiculous speculation. Are the doctors mistaken when they say the tests show he has no meniscus in his knees? Is that pouting?

No, I'm sure his knees are shot, but whether or not he's pouting has nothing to do with his doctors.

lol.

Mediocre man, your opinion of your supposed favorite team is so jaded.
