Bust a Scoot?

The core injury has had a crazy impact on Scoot’s athleticism:

He went from DRose to Jamaal Tinsley

I find it odd that seemingly every guard has had an ab injury within the last few seasons.

Who are the trainers? Yeah, they need to go.

Why have we had like 5 players with the same “core” injury?

7 assists as well

and he's a rookie leading the NBA in blocks

I'll admit that I didn't believe, for a second, he'd be this good, this fast

For me, I fully thought he'd be this good. It's not about his talent. I still have worries about his ability to stay in the league for 8-10 years. I guess we'll see.

While it's too early to write Scoot off I wouldn't be surprised if we draft another PG with our top pick.

he has to improve everything in his game and his head and thats just too many things to improve

perhaps he can become ricky rubio type of player, but fuck that, im not accepting anything less than all-star, its that or bust

I saw his people calling his ceiling De'Aaroon Fox or Darius Garland type of career. I thought that would have been dissapointing. I was expecting generational Talent. Now i don't think he will ever reach De'Aaron Fox or Garland level

if he's still hurt then why is he playing? let him get 100% healthy as his current level of play can only destroy his confidence and development

Show me the "Scoot-is-DRose" footage, because I'd love to see it.

There were a couple of impressive Ignite dunks where he flexed and bobbed his head a lot.

It wasn’t enough to get me excited about him at the time. I hope he turns it around.

How about all of you give him ONE offseason before throwing the towel in?
Question for people who are saying this:

What do you do for the draft?

He didn’t show enough to warrant NOT drafting another guard so we could very easily be in position to draft ANOTHER guard that will need minutes (just like him) and possibly risk destroying his confidence and more likely, trust, in this organization.

You cannot right off a young 20 year old guard with one season under his belt. We will see if he's willing to put in the work to improve his game. To me he should have went to a D1 school for a year or two versus Ignite where there is little coaching. He and his family went for the money and you cant blame them.

I'd guess a rich man's Tony Allen; or a quicker Ron Artest. If he reaches that all-league defensive level he'll stick, especially if the NBA follows thru on allowing more defensive contact. His perimeter shooting may always be his big flaw, but he's finding ways to minimize that negative impact, which is kind of impressive for a rookie.

His .570 TS% is impressive, considering; but he's posting that mark by taking over 50% of his shots at the rim and shooting 72% when he gets there. I haven't seen him enough to know if he has that high a rate of shots at the rim because he's adept at dribble drive. I'd think he'd have been well scouted by now so maybe he's Brandon Roy-ish with dribble-drive. That would be impressive with his size and athleticism

I wish i could have the same trust in Scoot like many other posters still have in him. I just don't see it how he can turn it around. He doesn't look like a Basketballer to me, more like an Football player. We'll see
