The Dude thinks it would be foolish not to shop him to see his trade value. I listened to the segment he has there and he's right. You have to see what his value is because if this is where we are next year, we could be in trouble, value speaking

Yeah Yeah Yeah, it's always.........

"You don't trade Aldridge simply to trade him. I'm saying the Blazers should test the market now, and see if there's a sweetheart deal sitting out there for a power forward who is established"

Well duh, sure you inquire. That is a GM's job. You do that with almost everyone. Canzano is bored. Nothing really to write about this time of year.

Isn't it about that time of the year for him to write the article about a sick kid that wins him an award?

Oregonian: fire Canzano.

Canzano is very smart and has much more basketball knowledge than any of us. So much so that I think he should be GM of the Lakers.

We need a campaign or hash tag or something like that to make this happen.

I agree. LaMarcus was a viable 2nd/3rd Option on a good team, a 1st/2nd option on a bad team. He is not a leader. His trade value is at its peak right now and his contract is perfectly aligned to assure teams he'll stick around.

The future of the Blazers is Lillard, Leonard, and Batum. Aldridge was perfect for the Roy/Oden era but on this team he's a square peg in a round-hole roster. Get top dollar for him from a Texas team. Get an upper-tier shooting guard and upgrade the bench.

Well, duh. Any GM worth his salt is constantly making these sorts of evaluations and talking to other GMs about trade possibilities. Unlike Canzano, though, who likes to flap his hands in nervous anticipation of these things working out for the worst, Olshey will first want to see what he CAN do with the Blazers' assets before jumping to serious discussions about trading Aldridge. I think he'll have a pretty good idea right after the draft of whether he's been able to put together the components that will lead to the Blazers becoming a serious contender built around LMA. If he hasn't been able to do that draft day deal that we all think is coming, and if the Blazers are going to end up being just one of the pack bidding for a fairly limited FA pool, then I think that Olshey will have to think very seriously about moving LMA for a younger piece who may fit a longer rebuild window.

Upper tier SG?? Lol how bout names?! Love when guys suggest trading out best player.

What we will end up getting is a bad first rd pick and a Chris Kaman player.

Which players are on these Texas teams that moved the needle?

We missed the boat last year on Harden. Wonder if they could have gotten Ibaka too.

Yep I think it's silly to trade Aldridge. Lillard may end up being our best player but Aldridge is out best player now.

Also, Aldridge is a fine #2 option. Give us a defensive center and we are golden.

Hey John, Dwight Jaynes called. He wants his obsession for rabble-rousing back.

Canzano is right this time....POR should consider trading Aldridge....

If OKC loses, I wonder if POR could get Ibaka, Lamb and P.Jones for him....

A year ago, before the Bulls lost Asik as a FA, I'd have traded Noah and Boozer for LMA and filler

Thank GOD that didn't happen. I'd have to burn all my memorabilia...

FWIW, Boozer led the Bulls to 46 wins this season. He'd have been a decent replacement for LMA for the short term. And you'd have your starting C.

Again wasn't the point of trading Harden was so they didn't have three max players?

I don't understand how we missed the boat. Sure I would much rather have Harden and Ibaka, but so would OKC, if they could afford it.

I hate Boozer, and I hate Noah even more. I don't care how irrational my hatred is.

then in 3-4 years it'll be "Trade Lillard".

then we'll see Aldridge going far in the playoffs and wondering "why couldn't he do that in Portland".

There's logic to exploring deals, but I would wait and see how Lillard improves.

I'm not even sure we should wait 3-4 years.
