I haven't projected any middle eastern outcomes on Trump.....I don't think he gives a shit about Syria...he loves Israel though...that'll piss off some terrorists..wants to move the US embassy from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem

The four-day bombing campaign occurred at the same time the U.S. House of Representatives was conducting the impeachment hearing of President Clinton. Clinton was impeached by the House on 19 December, the last day of the bombing campaign. A few months earlier, similar criticism was levelled during Operation Infinite Reach, wherein missile strikes were ordered against suspected terrorist bases in Sudan and Afghanistan, on 20 August. The missile strikes began three days after Clinton was called to testify before a grand jury during the Lewinsky scandal and his subsequent nationally televised address later that evening in which Clinton admitted having an inappropriate relationship.
The Operation Infinite Reach attacks became known as "Monica's War" among TV news people, due to the timing. ABC-TV announced to all stations that there would be a special report following Lewinsky's testimony before Congress, then the special report was pre-empted by the report of the missile attacks. The combination of the timing of that attack and Operation Desert Fox led to accusations of a Wag the Dog situation.

The middle east was Carter's mess. He made Iran into what it's been - state sponsor of terrorist organizations.
It was his mess. Now it's Obama's bloody awful mess. Much worse off than when he took office.
The good news is Obama won't be making bad decisions much longer.

disagree....reason....Obama streamlined the way we support coalitions with drones and naval support instead of boots on the ground...he actually changed the way we conduct operations in a way that's almost eliminated American casualties in the region.....it's not worse now as far as American interests are concerned. We no longer need their oil and we're working with allies...not solo. If you were a believer in an American empire....you wouldn't see how I believe we have no business in their business anymore. I'm most worried that the Hawks in power want to bully the world to their liking and that's not a world I would like see for my grandchildren. Let's hope nuclear warhead escalation Trump fantasizes about never occurs. Let's hope Trump doesn't just feel like playing soldier with his new toys.

We shouldn't bully the world. But once you've spent $1T+ and thousands of soldier's lives in a country, you have too many reasons to assure a good outcome.
Anything less is a slap in the face to those soldiers who did serve and especially to those who lost life or limb.

Your semantics are kind of silly at this point. If W had 100,000 on the ground and Obama 99,999, it's "not like George Bush boots on the ground."
If Obama were a republican, he'd be branded a war criminal for bombing our allies without a declaration of war or even doing so beyond what the war powers act allows.

Put away your board game....and you should really check your own assumptions based on your own prejudice against the current administration....I find that very shallow...which is sad because I would expect a Libertarian to have a more open view of the world stage. Since this campaign it seems your posts have gone from interesting food for thought to pretty much pure liberal bashing or Democrat bashing....the country needs less of this unless you want to keep dividing the teams into good guys and bad guys...you once mentioned that we're the same age or close to it...I'm curious...how did you avoid the draft?
