How is Ant gonna become an All-Star with Dame and CJ both here?

Woah I saw this exact same post on Reddit hahaha deja VuThe biggest reason I've been on the trade CJ bandwagon is because I was 100% certain he would bolt at his first unrestricted free agency. During occasions Dame has been out, he's proven that he could easily be the top guard on a solid team and would easily be an All-Star in the East. He would be making a name for himself and not have to sign with a Chinese shoe brand.
He's proven me wrong. For his loyalty to Portland, he's earned my loyalty.
Naw he needs to keep shooting to efficient not to
I'm not sure the exact answer to your question dollar-wise, but with the cap increases each year this definitely is less than what he could've potentially been offered next summer or when he was an actual free agent.Does anyone know if this was the max we could have offered him? I know Beal was eligible for 3/111 but I don't know if Beal and CJ are on the same timeline. Does this save us money during Dame's 1st year of the supermax?

I was hoping you would respond, but with actual numbers.
Disappointed.![]()
Sorry to disappoint you, I could make up numbers if you want but until the 2020-21 and 2021-22 salary cap numbers are announced those summers it's just a guess.Main question is how this impacts his trade value. Is he now more or less desirable to other teams?Cool?
So you saying you cannot calculate the actual cap numbers for next year? huh ... what happened to your ability to predict the future? Damned !!!Sorry to disappoint you, I could make up numbers if you want but until the 2020-21 and 2021-22 salary cap numbers are announced those summers it's just a guess.

More, locked into a contract so no worries of him bolting.Main question is how this impacts his trade value. Is he now more or less desirable to other teams?
Okay, I think I have it figured out. We could have offered him 3 years, $114 million this summer. So we saved $14 million total over 3 years over what it could've been this summer. CJ's salary would have kept getting bigger each summer moving forward too.Does anyone know if this was the max we could have offered him? Okay, 6th man of the year demanding 18-20 mill per. Was a kinda tongue and cheek statement with some underlying truthful concerns.![]()
What happens if Simons turns out to be an elite shooter?
The Blazers don’t need a sixth the man of the year they need another all star.

If that happens I really do not see a downside.
Depends upon the team and their situation. It's not a one-size fits all.Main question is how this impacts his trade value. Is he now more or less desirable to other teams?
- Spacing the floorThe downside is that CJ McCollum will always need to be on the floor ( as is the case now) at the end of the game even if his defense and rebounding are hurting the team and he is also not shooting well. This is why I do not think the pairing of Lillard and McCollum is as good as it can be in the NBA. What does McCollum do when he’s not shooting the ball? He’s not shooting it at an elite level on average and he’s not going to make the all NBA team on defense.
Why not both? Id take someone averaging 20ppg in 32min off the bench. The Blazers don’t need a sixth the man of the year they need another all star.
