Also. These days the scientific studies have not been completed and whackjobs have infiltrated the database to muddy the waters so facts are no longer clear.
Everything has become political to the point that the facts are not easy to find. If they even exist. BUt yet many take partial info aNd base a judgement off of it and call it a fact when it really isnt.

There is alot to this, no doubt, but lets not start judging/condemning others because they are not accepting the nonfactual as factual and prefer to let things run its course before hastily jumping into things. Which, realistically is what has happened since march of last year… or more.

Do you have to get a booster that’s the same make as your original vaccine? Or could you get say a J&J booster although you had the Pfizer originally?

The booster should be the same but it apparently doesn't hurt to get multiple vaccines. My friend at the clinic says they already see lots of people slipping in for boosters already, or swapping from J&J to moderna because that one is better. They also think the j&j will eventually be phased out.

I am fully vaccinated and will get my booster as soon as it’s available.

That being said, fully vaxed shouldn’t mean shit. Negative tests and masks are really important. After being vaccinated, I got COVID. I had minor symptoms, but could spread it.

because a tiny portion of the public (very very very small) can still have breakthrough infections even after vaccinations. While they probably won't die or get hospitalized, they can still spread to others and continue to propagate the virus. Masks can help in that regard. These are steps required because like half the country is still unvaccinated unfortunately.

Your irritation at this mandate shouldn't be at the Blazers or the Governor, but rather at the people learning science from Facebook.

Thing is, if you don't want to get the vaccine (I'll never understand why, but regardless), it's so easy to have a picture on a phone that will get you in.....

As for mask wearing - I absolutely agree it lessens the experience - the games at the end of the year just felt weird. I'm willing to go along with it while we have this variant spike - but eventually that needs to go away for the vaccinated.

I have degrees in science, worked in big Pharma for over a decade, and have spoken (sadly in failed interviews) with scientists at Moderna who came up with the technology to design these vaccines. It's not testing. In my mind, the solution is to go door to door vaccinating people, or penalizing them for not getting shots. Banning them from games is an example of it. Delta essentially fining their employees for not getting it is another example.

Incentivizing people didn't do jack shit to the vaccination rates, but maybe it's time to get the stick now instead of the carrot.

Everyone who attends the game will be vaccinated OR have a 72 hour negative COVID test. I think bearing this in mind and the relative risks, they shouldn't require masks. For one, it will show people who AREN'T vaccinated sitting at home, that people can enjoy life with no masks, normal. cheer the local hometown basketball sqaud.

But with the mask mandates, people at home are gonna be watching people on TV in masks, thinking the vaccines are bullshit because even if EVERYONE has the vaccine or negative COVID-test, they still have to have the mask on.
