It's just weird. Like 90% of the board now is on the same page rooting for Scoot and Shaedon and ready to move on. Last year it was maybe 70/30 where the majority thought we were gonna build a contender around Dame.

Now people just want to argue about anything and everything. Not to say they didn't before, i've done my fair share. Just feels like this should be something that brings most of us together like the old days. Maybe that happens when Dame is finally traded except a couple outlier fans.

I wanted to move on from Dame, I wanted to move on from Aldridge.....now it's just a lot easier because we have Scoot.

Herro and 3 picks is better then Ben Simmons and a bonus extra pick. Tyler can shoot. Tyler is a far better player then Simmons. Tyler can be traded.

Ben is a a top 5 worst NBA contract. He'd be doing his bad basketball stuff for the remaining years, or until an affordable buyout occurs.

This place hasn't changed the last six months.

I think people in general just have become more angry and less empathetic towards anyone else since covid started. I've seen people at dr offices going ballistic at the receptionists for such small things.
I jumped into a nest egg of Cujo's when I joined this forum. It's like everyone got rabies, slobber fight Rah-Rah-Rah SPORTS! jock out, cuss people out.

Folks, it's basketball, a finess sport. It's not an NFL forum. Nobody on the court is trying to kill their opponents like football, so why are Blazer fans trying to cannibalize each other?

Portland should get a NHL hockey team so the angry fans can migrate over there. Mullets & Mayhem.

He's never been alone in this way. It's literally him and his agent. He has no institutional backing from the team anymore. They won't run interference if he runs his mouth a little. He's under 100x more scrutiny than he ever was as a Blazer, and the media isn't looking to fluff him up or woo him. They're looking for the drama and they don't care if they hurt him to get it. He's savvy but I don't think he's been in this situation social media-wise before.

I don't have much sympathy for him, but it is interesting to watch.
I have Zero sympathy for him.
Who's the only player in the world who doesn't want to play with Scoot Henderson?
DAME f'ing Lillard.

it's a safe assumption that Dame doesn't think Cronin can make win-now moves. It may even be that Dame believes Cronin never had an intention of making win-now moves even though he kept saying he did, and that's a big part of why there appears to be bad blood in the relationship...or lack of

but I think it's safe to say that Dame probably views Jody & the Vulcans in a negative light. Their penny-pinching over the last few seasons has to have been noticed
Dame probably would have been traded at the deadline, but his no trade till summer contract made Dame stick around for more "we're building around Lillard" b.s.

The Blazers undoubtedly scared Lillard off the team. There's so many good basketball players that Cronin could have signed. Joe didn't have to go all out for superstars. Joe just needed a handful of better players. Relying on rookies and sophomores, in key rotation spots was a huge mistake last year. A willing lack of depth action that sent Lillard packing.

Injuries caused the Blazers to lose.
Players already injured or had injury histories? Are those the Blazer injuries people refer too. Marang's podcast tried to sneak in Ant's ankle sprain as a big factor on why Portland lost. C'mon now, Portland already stunk up the league when Simons got hurt. He only missed a few games, then the team benched Ant to start tanking.

The Blazers GM made a small wimpy team, and Lillard was so fantastic he almost made them playoff relevant. When Joe traded the toughest Blazer Josh Hart for washed up Knicks and a draft pick, it probably put Dame into "I'm outta here" mode.

(yes, I know, trading Hart for the pick was a great idea, but Kris Murray is not as good as his brother, it's not a win now move. Trading that pick to unlock future 1sts is what was sold by the Blazers to Lillard and fans. Cronin kept the #23 pick and Lillard asked out the following day.)

It really depends on the number of picks that we’re talking about. If Herro gets us one FRP from a third team while Simmons gets us two from the Nets along with the opportunity to see if we can turn Simmons’ career around as a post instead of a PG then fuck Herro and one pick, give me Simmons and two.

I don't believe, for a second, the Nets would give up two first round picks to dump Simmons. No way. It's debatable they'd even give up one

Damn, some of you really need to fucking chill.

Any more personal insults or bitching about each other is going to get you removed from this thread.

Please, chill.

You can't stop me. If you strike me down, I'll only become more powerful than you can possibly imagine.

I'll just make fun of your weird obsession with spoons on our extremely popular and famous podcast.

Everything's debatable until they do it. I don't think it's that hard to imagine a scenario in which the Nets give up one first-rounder to get Herro and a second first-rounder to get rid of Simmons. Is it?

that's not what I was pushing back against though which was 2 first's for dumping Simmons

the Nets might give up a first for Herro; and they might give up a first for dumping Simmons. The even might give up two first's for doing both things although I think that's really starting to stretch things

or the Nets might simply be looking at Simmons the same way Portland might: that being he only has 2 years left of his deal. The Nets are 10M below the tax line right now and they have 30M in expiring contracts. They have no compelling reason to trade Simmons. And if his back is truly screwed up, the Nets might be able to get out of his contract sooner. Portland wouldn't have that option if they traded for him

You drunk?:) If Herro can be traded, let Miami trade him and then come back. Since when 6.3 that can shoot is something we need again?
Tyler is better player than Ben? Idk.

And what is this obsesion about draft picks? Most of them would be most probably 23, so why is it so important?
I would rather talk about young players with upside. Hard stop for this Herro bs.

Preach brother, I'm not sure if I was still on Blazersedge (it's sooo much better here), but I wanted to trade LMA that last summer of his contract. I could sense he was gonna leave. I remember posting that we should see if the Sixers would bite on LMA for the then injured Embiid. I got flayed by other fans for daring to suggest we trade LMA when it was pretty clear to me he might be leaving (didn't re-sign) and that we ought to get whatever value we could for him. OH WELL!

lol
Coach Billups really got Reddish back in top tier form. For about 2 games.

About the only good production Ben Simmons would bring is he misses lots of games. Then Billups can say "you know, with all these injuries, you know, yaaa, I got to put in young guys that don't have the experience to play, you know."

I was so tired of the turn around fade way jump shot he'd always take. He was obsessed with that shot for some reason, and had a really low TS%.

Jeebus Crack!!!!!!

Same as it ever was….

@Natebishop3 you have annoyed me in the past but man, you did nothing wrong and got blasted.
Its very clear a few posters have serious internal insecurities to have to randomly call you and Bones out for just trying to do your podcast and web things.

It really is sad how a few keep going back to that as some sort of insult.
I mean why? Why???? Why??????? do we feel the need to put each other down in such ways??????????

What happens in the forum should absolutely stay in the forum, but i wish some would stop being so protected. If they talk themselves into trouble, thats on them.
Meaning, if someone keeps posting shit that may cause them harm outside of this place, then that's on them if they get in trouble.
Like you, i 100% agree no one should be going after someones employment, job, or life outside of this place. But if someone keeps posting stuff that their employer, family, priest, children, or whoever else would find offensive or insulting and want to reprimand for, then maybe that poster or posters should take a hard look at their posting style and really ask themselves if they are innocent or have a hand in them getting reprimanded.

Now! You are wrong about Dame. Period! ;)

And honestly, I'm glad we are doing what we are doing.

Just move forward from Dame.

Pretty certain she's his stylist and nothing more.

And lol. That photo is from his wedding with Kayla.

Trust me, I'm on top of these things. Don't believe the fools on reddit.
Yeah I don’t know. Just relaying what some other people were saying.
