Dame asks for trade (And there it is)

As always, my biggest concern is I once again have to buy new Jerseys to wear to games. They should offer a discount if we trade in our Dame jerseys for Scoot.

Of course Dame would like Miami for financial reasons. Over the next 4 years he's due 216M and Florida has no state income tax, and that's just his salary, not endorsement deals. NY's top income tax rate is 10.9% which is actually higher than Oregon's

Dame wants to be at that top tier with LeBron and Jordan and be an owner. He's got to save that money any way he can. It's a numbers game. This is why he went for 71 last season right before they shut him down: he needed that on his CV to get the best deal.

But you stand by what others said? Wow Blazersedge 2.0. Either ban political speech across the board (I'd love that btw), or just admit you want this site to be yet another Partisan Dem site. Feel free to delete ALL political posts, but if you only delete the ones you dislike well, I can just leave the board. I'm done with this stuff. This is America, we have something called freedom of speech and if you're going to go down the road of censoring anyone who disagrees with the DNC, then I will gladly leave. I'm done with that trash.

Have whatever opinion you want. Share it...in OT.

I bought one jersey ever and it was one I regret the most. Such a waste of money lol. At least to me, it made me realize buying team stuff is dumb lol

Any political talk beyond this post will be deleted. Doesn't matter who.
You’re not gonna let me give my platform for a seat on my HOA board????? But I was running on hiring a bunch of hot women to mow all the lawns (instead of the company they’re using now)

How exactly is this Dames fault for leaving? Wouldn't you be pissed if you expressed loyalty but asked for help and saw they were doing the opposite? It's called being human.

This organization failed him. That's not on dame and anyone who thinks otherwise is not thinking rationally imo.
Well, it's your opinion. We disagree.

Sad day in Blazer history. The end of an era.

Dame led the team in PER for 7 years. Bested only by Drexler who did it 10 times.

I've been a huge Dame fan since his rookie year. He represented the franchise with class. But once he leaves, I'm a Blazer fan first. I have no interest in him winning wherever he goes.

Being a long-time season ticket holder, I'm not a fan of tanking or a full tear-down. The Blazers have a solid base of rookies. Add some additional young talent around Sharpe and Henderson and look to win now with a young core.

Here's to success in the post-Dame era!

I don't recall saying that. Please stop trying to mischaracterized.

You said Dame wanted veteran players, the implication that the Blazers weren't doing that for him. I pointed out that we did a lot of that for him, and you immediately moved the goalpost to something along the lines of "that was then, this is now." I responded that Dame's method was part of the thing that got the Blazers and Dame into the situation they were in.

I didn't have a problem with making a trade involving draft picks. I have a problem with trading multiple draft picks for Robert Covington-level players. If you can't understand the value of picks and the importance of the team over the player if that's what it comes down to, all I have to say is I hope you aren't making personnel decisions anywhere.

I was using your logic. The implication is correct. Dame didn't request a trade two years ago under Olshey. He did so now because he doesn't have enough veterans. So I didn't move the goalposts since the subject is his trade request.

What method? Getting veterans is what got them in this situation? What? Doesn't make any sense.

I didn't want to trade our picks and there's no evidence that this is why Dame asked out. Try to stay on topic.

BTW, is that last line allowed on this board? That seems like the type of thing that would get you in a lot of trouble in person or in any kind of public setting. Your use of it, though, tells me a lot more about you.

Better run and tell someone my guy...

He did no such thing. This dude put his time in like nobody else for not only the franchise, but the damn city. No hate should be tossed his way.

Agreed... Not one ounce of hate will come from me, that's for sure.

Their state laws suck for minorities

I have been to Florida several times. It's hot as hell, humid as fuck, and there are bugs that sounds like a Sikorsky Black Hawk Copter when it flies by your head. Did I mention the storms that blow cars across the road?

Of course a few attractive people can always be viewed, dispersed in small numbers around the overtanned, retired New Yorkers. Let's not forget those bastions of character, Florida U, U of Miami, and the Dolphins.

To each his or her own, but I wouldn't move to Florida, if you paid me. Ahhhh, I can just smell that State odor.....Banana Oil SPF70.....

I like the cut of your jib, sir. You've got my vote.

You forgot the sinkholes, gators and pythons.

If Dame wants Miami and Miami wants Dame, then they better work their ass off to find a 3rd team in the deal. Miami’s assets are straight garbage. If they can’t, trade him to the Nets.
If we don't want their garbage then why would a 3rd team want MIA's garbage?

Loyalty's subjective. In this day and age in the NBA, with players like Durant, Westbrook, Harden and others playing for different teams every couple of years, Dame is eternal.

At the same time, I don't know how anyone can divorce that from the fact that Dame had as much input and control over his team and its fanbase than any player other than LeBron, and his "loyalty" resulted in him being one of the highest paid players in the NBA, a man with successful businesses in the Portland area and a national brand marketed largely on the fact that he was willing to take the road not traveled.

Dame wasn't exactly an indentured servant for the Blazers. I think we need to stop pretending we were holding him hostage. He got a lot out of Portland that many bigger names have not out of their team(s).
He was also the shadow GM for the past 7-8 years. Do we really think there were many moves made by this franchise without his approval? Our performance is as much on him as it is the front office.

Wonderful. Play internet tough guy because your logic didn't include any logic. I'm not a mod and I'm not reporting you for using that word. If the mods see it and you get banned, it's probably appropriate but it'll be because you lack self-control, not because someone wanted you off the board.

Why does he not want to go to the Nets? Clowney and Claxon meet our goals. (Plus picks)
We need them back involved

Ya'll Florida haters thinking about moving there with your minimum wage job or something? If you have any amount of money, aside from familial attachments and love of Oregon, Florida is better by FAR. What the heck are you guys talking about?!?!
Yeah, all those mountains they have for great hiking.

Florida would be a nightmare for a lot of people from the Northwest.

Keep moving those goalposts. At least you didn't use slurs in this reply. That's an improvement.

Can you point me to the word he used that would merit conversation of punishment? Genuinely asking cause there's a lot of posts and I haven't seen it.

The only jersey I own is a Zach Randolph jersey I got on clearance for 10 bucks, and I only got it to wear playing ball.
