Our front office's loyalty needs to be to the Blazers first. We're never going to attract the kind of free agents that would be off put by us negotiating the best deal for ourselves rather than for the player, so why try to cater to them? Make the best deal for Portland.

This is the problem about trading dame to Miami. Does anyone trust Cronin to not fuck this up?? How does trading for Herro or Robinson help the future of this squad at all. We need to be targeting a young, talented 4/5. Can Cronin orchestrate a 3 team deal that lands us that plus gets Dame to Miami? Why would we prioritize Dame's wants over what's best for the franchise? It just doesn't make sense and can set this franchise back indefinitely if mishandled. If we manage this properly it can springboard us into an exciting near future.

I think there's enough of a track record out there with trades like KD (to PHX) and Harden (to the Nets) that you can make the case that sets the market for Lillard

Miami be like, hmmm, how do evaluate this dame trade. . Let's see, bradley beal got this. . ahah. . Ok, let's use that as a guideline

Gonna have to take back expensive assets, you just want them to be expiring soon or old vets so they can shore up the bench behind our young guys and (hopefully) mentor them a little.
Yeah, to match salaries. I just hope they are on expirings, and I'd settle for future picks to take the salaries off their books.

Anybody have ideas on overpaid vets?

Even if the new Blazers play super hard and stay above .400, does anyone really think Cronin won't pull the plug on the starting unit after All-Star break?

Am I the only one who is fine keeping Grant even with Dame gone? I always hated Grant playing against us and honestly with a PG like Scoot I think he will benefit more to showcase his talents. While I enjoyed and loved the Dame time era I am more excited to see what the future holds.
Yes, Grant's going to show more of his game on offense, especially running the court, which should be every opportunity with Scoot running the show.

If Billups keeps putting Grant as the initial point-of-attack defender, instead of a help defender near the hoop, he should be instantly fired.
He should also be fired if Scoot and Sharpe aren't the starting backcourt.

Thirty. Three. Years. Old.

I hope we're able to draft and keep other top 75 people in this franchise until they're 32. It's going to be hard though.

I don't want to turn into a minor league system that develops talent for other teams to cash in once they hit their prime.

We should send him to Orlando and tell him it's so his tattoo still has meaning.
Honestly, with ORL's team needs and Dame's skillset as he gets older, ORL should be on his list. They need a scoring guard, and Paolo/Franz are going to be fun to watch as ballhandling and scoring bigs. 36y/o Dame can play the Ray Allen game for a while.

I trust Cronin. He envisioned this day months in advance. He knows what he's doing. He will get KD/Gobert level return for Dame.

Star players can jump through the NBA portal at anytime. Even young star prospects can demand what their wishes are.once they get paid.

I think this is what everyone's wondering now. And can see there could be a good outcome if done right.

He won't need to. And he shouldn't anyway, because all our young players will be in training. That would be very bad for player and team development.
