Dame asks for trade (And there it is)

Nurk needs to stay off Twitter. He's not doing himself any favors, but maybe he figures he will be gone anyhow and doesn't care.
I think he’s a real sensitive dude, them looking to trade him since last deadline probably has him on tilt. I want him gone so bad.

From another forum it sounds like this one is also a real account. Dropping dimes is shuffling through a few different accounts but it sounds like 20 and 27 are legit.

I don’t like Brown but at least that would make sense compared to Herro and Duncan Robinson.

FAKE. Please stop falling for it. 20 literally has a twitter post saying all others are FAKE. He just deactivates and activates his account.

This is his last tweet today:

He's gone silent on Dame stuff probably because there has been no movement.

He definitely knows he's gone. In fact, if he's not by the beginning of the season, my guess is his agent just requests that he stays away until we can move him.

In the Bill Simmons "worst contracts" podcast, they called Nurkic in the top 7 worst, because of his complete failure to do anything for which he is paid. It was a pretty brutal takedown. Of course, Nurk is laughing all the way to the bank, so of course he doesn't care what he does on Twitter.

Brown's contract being up at the end of this season would give me real pause. If we trade Dame for a one season rental that we wouldn't be too competitive in, then we're fucked. That being said if there were other teams involved that would be good value. Also if that offer and more so the value it represents is on the table it gives Cronin leverage in negotiations with other teams.

Note that the "0" has a slash through it, like the Danish or Norwegian OE.

Nurk is skilled, but his mental state makes him too much of a loose cannon. You never know when he's going to check out.

I've never listened to a podcast in my life. I'd listen to yours.

Appreciate it. Last one we tried ended up about OJ getting you know what’d in prison. Started out talking about my friends trip to Scotland.

Certainly not for everyone. If anyone

The longer this goes on the more Dame gets vocal through channels. I hope like hell we don't take the bait. He can sit on his ass all season for all i care.

I am curious, will the Blazers lose valuation as an organization if that take a bad trade back for Damien?

Sorry. What?

What leverage does Dame have to force his way to Miami?

Really stupid take.

Neither party has 100% leverage.

If Dame and his folks are telling the other 29 teams he doesn't want to play for them, that will, at minimum, reduce their interest and therefore the quality of the offer.

Obviously Dame is under contract for a while and is highly unlikely to sit out, so that would minimize the leverage, but no team will want to give up the house for Dame to end up in the same media trade demand fiasco Portland is in right now.

Short answer: No.

Unless you've got a young superstar on your team, it seems like most new ownership actually prefers a clean set of books to set their own path. Plus, potential owners are likely thinking big picture, not team talent the next 3-4 years.

Ok, Thanks. I thought it would be funny to tell teams low balling, "Sorry, we have a fiduciary responsibility not to accept your offer"

unless the Blazers take back horrible long term contracts...no

a lot of factors go into a team's valuation and payroll is only a small part of that. Just being a team in the NBA is the primary valuation and right now, Dame being, or not being, a Blazer is a minor blip compared to the new media deals coming in 2025. That's where the valuation lies because it represents an expanding international market, and billions of dollars

That's because the longer this goes one the more chance that a team like Philly (who Dame knows he couldn't complain about going to and still have a good image) can swoop in. They're trying to get to where they want but they know that if we get him to a playoff team with other stars that he'll just have to go there or look like something I'm sure he doesn't want to look like.

It's why I'd send him somewhere that actually has a good shot at re-signing him like Houston. They have a treasure trove of former lottery picks and young talent perfect for our rebuilding team.
