Dame asks for trade (And there it is)

Richman posts his pods the night before.

I know. Everything Richman has said has simply been his guess as to what's going to happen. If he was reporting something more formal Twitter and ESPN would be blowing up with that information.

It's entirely possible that a deal is agreed to and having to wait until next week when Dame can be traded, but if that's true...
1. It could very easily be announced now -- that sort of thing happens all the time.
2. Why are their reports of other teams interested and us not being impressed with the Heat's offer?

I get that people have biases and certainly Joe's first few trades have probably earned him a bit of a reputation, but we have all the leverage here and he's likely negotiating for his career. If there's one common theme you hear from the local guys its that Joe doesn't want to be the guy to sell low on Dame.

We might not get a Gobert-level deal, but every sign I've seen form this whole ordeal so far suggests that Cronin won't sell Dame cheap. It could all be bluster and those assuming the worst could be correct, but until that happens, I don't think it's wrong to hold out a little hope...

We should be getting an above Gobert deal.

We should be getting an above Gobert deal.

That feels like setting yourself up for disappointment. Gobert hadn't demanded a trade, he was coveted by Minny. They traded him to a division rival which you have to think incurred a bit of a premium. He's also 2 yrs younger than Dame.

A friend (I know, but it’s true) and I are thinking about starting a podcast. The ones we’ve mocked up so far have completely gone off the rails. Turns out he and I have no filter
Have you thought about using some voice changing technology and just said fuck it, who cares what we say?

I wont be dissapointed, it just deserves to be above an average player no matter the paramaters. (and no, his DPOYs mean nothing)

Very few players should ever get "an above-Gobert" deal. Just because Minnesota made one of the dumbest trades in history, doesn't mean other teams are that stupid.

Dame is one of those very few players.

Not very well thought out. Chris Middleton and "Maybe" some picks? I would rather take Miami's deal.
Moron. What the hell are they thinking?
This trade is not about where Dame wants to go or fits. It's about who will give up the most to the Trail Blazers.

I don't look for a "good fit" when I sell my used car. I give it to the highest bidder. (fictional situation to make a point)

Yeah like this is better than what they got for what we are trying to do. This is assuming that the Spurs have a high value on Herro and also knowing that they are swimming in picks.

I don’t think it’s agreed on at all.

It sounds like one way or the other Dame is going to Miami, but Joe isn’t saying yes until Herro is traded to another team for shit that we want. And it’s not Joe doing the negotiating according to Richman. It’s Dames agent.

Dame is one of those very few players.

Not at 33 with a 200-million-dollar contract. The return needs to be better than what Miami is offering, but what the Jazz got for Gobert should not be considered the "new norm" just because Minnesota was stupid enough to do it.

I dont make the rules, they set the precedent.

Taking Simmons would be tough, but if he is the large part of the salary match, and the rest is young players and picks for Dame + picks for taking on Simmons, I could live with it as a sunk cost that will be gone soon......right when you will want to start adding vets to Scoot/Sharpe/Murray, etc.

Martin will be 28 before the season starts, almost a decade older than Scoot/Sharpe. I actually prefer Jovic. If you can get a 3way with Brooklyn where we get Jovic/Clowney/4-5 1s I’d take it.

I don’t think the age of players we get back matters too much; our window doesn’t even open a crack until five years from now anyway and I virtually guarantee everyone we get back from this deal that isn’t a pick will be gone by then. Find guys who can fill spots and teach kids, because we’re going to be a daycare for a while yet.
