Dame asks for trade (And there it is)

I'm immediately flipping Martin.

Yeah, he fits well with the Heat, but I question how he would fit here. We would have to overpay to keep him next summer.
I am more interested in JJjr and Jovic and a matching salary (Plus the picks)

what does that mean?

I find it hard to believe that this is the first time ever a team has ever confirmed they received a trade demand from a player

It means that Dame/his agent are not vulnerable to penalties from the NBA because the Blazers publicly talked about the trade demand.

Some guy named Mark Medina said Dame would not report if traded to a team that isn't Miami.

Ya, that's a stretch.
Somebody somewhere is retweeting the KingSpeed guys thoughts and "inside info" on the Dame situation.....imagine that. Calling him a "Blazer Insider"

you are aware that Dame's agent has explicitly said he's been telling other teams that Dame has no interest i playing for anybody other than Miami and would be unhappy if they traded for him. Again, it was Dame's agent and he said that

it's not a stretch at all to believe that Dame's camp went one step further BTS and threatened he wouldn't show up for other teams.

Jovic
Jaquez
Lowry
4 FRPs

Disagree. Getting ANY assets right now is why this is a good thing. Dame's value is going to get worse over the next several years. His salary is going to go up, and logically his production is going to go down.

I get that. But we still need a superstar package and just because we got more than nothing doesn't mean we got the right price

Haynes, yes.

But does anyone think Danny Marang is close with Dame? And clearly Hoopsjock has a source. I don't think it's Dame himself so I would guess it's part of his family.
Hold on, you claim the hoopsjok guy "has a source"? C'Mon man.....Really? Please.

Goodwin is right. I don't even know this Dame anymore.

“I don’t think another team would do a deal like that knowing everything that’s going on,” Aaron Goodwin said. “But if they do, then they don’t know Dame.”

Forget rooting for him. I am going to actively root against this asshole. Gtfo.

He effectively said we don't know dame.

He also effectively said we never knew Dame.

Just... I'm stunned.

At what point does Cronin just say “See you at Training camp”. If all we are getting is crap offers, the only leverage you have is to leave and take the ball with you. I want them to trade Dame too, but this feels like getting bullied by Goodwin and Dame. What do the Blazers really lose by refusing to trade Dame until Dame increases his trade list. If Miami really wanted Dame, they would be making moves to give the Blazers better assets. Didn’t Dame even acknowledge in May/June that he would be worth a lot in a trade? For the good of Scoot and Shaedon we need to trade Dame this offseason. But part of me would enjoy Dame sitting out and the baby Blazers some how shocking the world by being a competitive team. And the awkwardness of the whole situation at that point.

Dame could be our 6th man off the bench! Our scoring sparkplug. :)

This is all part of their leverage plan.

Outside of going on and on about failed promises and talking shit, they (Lillard/ Goodwin/Haynes) have nothing else. There is no other leg to stand on to get what they want.

Just bear with it for a few more months and people will lose interest. Shut down any trade negotiations til they stfu. Deal with this in training camp when there is far less public posturing and duress.

Whats the worst that can happen? He makes a diss track that a few hundred people will listen to and cringe after? BFD.

I think we'll get offered Jovic, taking on Duncan Robinson's shit contract and 4 maybe even 5 FRPs along with some expiring contract(s). I think that should be enough for Cronin to just want to take it and wash his hands of this situation. We'll see.

I think that Cronin and most likely Andy Elisburg will have a sit down today or tomorrow in Vegas and we'll either get a trade or Cronin will either leak or say publicly that there are no suitable deals on the table right now so we'll wait until there are and we plan on seeing Dame in training camp.

What is the absolute worst team we can send him to? Are we basketball purgatory, or are there worse organizations?

Is keeping him in Portland and refusing to trade him the best punishment?
Isn't this worse? One winning season since 2007-2008.

Jalen Duren and Ausar Thompson anyone?

I don't want us to trade Dame before Harden. At this point in their careers, Dame is waaayy more valuable, but I'm curious to see where he (Harden) ends up and for what return

An interesting thought:

I doubt they could do it, but maybe they can: no former players have come out to defend Dames character during this. I.E. "the organization is run poorly, this makes sense".

It wouldn't mean much, but it is interesting.

We do know that Josh Hart and Nicolas Batum have in the last year said that the organization is a good one.

Haynes said that Dame signed his extension last summer with a promise from the team that they would build a roster to compete for a championship. I don't believe that at all. Firstly, Dame signed that extension because this is going to be his last big contract and he was eligible for a 35% of our cap deal after being on the team for 8+ years. Like he would leave that much money on the table. Get out of here with that bullshit. Second, there's no way that Joe Cronin told Dame he could build a championship caliber team in one year. No fucking way. I'm sorry, I don't believe that.

The narrative keeps shifting. Dame's cronies keep leaking more and more shit to try to make the team look bad.
